Hey man keep your head up. Tear all the burnt crap out of the car. Take it to a cleaning place that does interiors and tell them what happened. They will get the smell out for sure if you go to the right place. You might catch a whiff of it once in a while on a very warm day but that will fade over time. After all that redo the interior. Do something custom. I know you have a wedding soon but if insurance covers it it is a chance to customize the car a bit.

thanks blackrose. that's what some people have been telling me also. it just sucks seeing something like this happen to something you care about whether it be something material or not.

Oh I know..... I would be crying like a b**** if that happened to me.

Lol, dude I almost did....then my wife took over and I had to step up and be a man for a second....then I went back to almost whimpering, lol. I'll try to get some pics up tonight. You guys might say, "dudes thats nothing..." but this thing goes deep and its not something you can just put the fllormat over.

Just make sure to inspect the area very good. You dont want any frayed wires or other hazards down there in the mean time. How close is the burn to the passanger kick panel? Did you trough any water in the car to dowse the flame?

Great, now I can't get that tobacco song out of my head. LOL.

Hope things work out with insurance.

PS - don't use profanity in thread titles. I edited it for you.

Your car's got the unholy possession.

"The power of Christ compells you! The power of Christ compells you!"

Hopefully the whole insurance situation works out in your favour. Anyways, you've got good stuff to look forward to. Congradulations and good luck with the wedding!

it just sucks because there was no floor mat to just remove the burning floor mat and safe the carpeting...now I have to replace the whole thing. Facking a....

Never would have thought a floormat could really save the car.. guess I was wrong. Really sucks man, hopefully your insurance can do something for you. So you had to wash all the windows on the inside, eh? Gotta love that unwelcome "custom tint job"..

keep your head up, it'll get fixed. Slap a floormat over that nasty spot and it's good as new (once you get the car cleaned out of course). Installing new carpeting wouldn't be that much fun.. taking the rear seat bottoms out is way easy, but taking off the front seats .. well that's fairly easy too. still time consuming

good luck getting things resolved.

Thanks man. But um....yeah...putting a floor mat in there wouldn't remove the stench, lol. I don't think people at the workplace would appreciate me coming into work smelling like I just walked out of a bonfire, lol.

well yeah that's why I said after you get it cleaned up. I can't imagine how strong the smell is since it was all sealed up in the car.

Man the car is sitting with the windows cracked open all day today and last night....and still smells like a BBQ grill was lit in my car, lol.

it might have been a good thing your windows weren't open when the fire started!! good luck!

Dude that totally sucks!!! Sounds like a good excuse to gut the interior to save weight!

But seriously I hope everything works out good for you!

also: it could've been worse. you said the windows were foggy, you could've found the titanic people doing it in your car........ then again that'd be good cause you could take pics and sell them to the media and buy a new P5 so..... yeah that sucks.
