what is the attraction of this crappy "urban entertainment".....by urban I mean black. It's the only way whites can comment on black entertainment...we have to refer to it as "urban"

so many assy movies out so often it's really giving "urban culture" an even worse reputat on.

p.s. so you dont think I'm a racist....SAT (white kid movie) is s*** also. ANY Mtv movie is....save for Beavis and Butthead

just like your "brilliant" comments on the MLK Day thread......the reason you don't understand any of this is because you are completely detatched from black people and their culture. I can't understand much of the attraction of the movies my wife watches that she imports from Asia either but I'll be damned if I'll go spouting off about them like an idiot like you do.......damn, some people.........

I you really want to get anal, use of the term "urban" could be construed as racist itself. Who says african (americans) have to be from the city.
In Italy, people in recent years deemed that the italian word used to describe africans, "negro", was derogative. It should be noted that the near literal translation in english is: 'black'. It was never meant as an insult. People in italy don't dislike blacks any more or less than any other race!
So now, the would be enlightened and sensitive people in italy use a term that could be liberally translated as "colored folks". Personally, because of my knowledge of american history, I find that far more disturbing, and it makes me think times when signs would be hun out in front of stores, "no colored folks allowed". *shrug*

I'm sorry for anyone who liked drumline, but that movie sucked big time. It's right there next to "the league of extraordinary gentleman". Jesus christ. Give me a few million dollars I'll do a better movie than that. It's like some idiot took the "world book of cliches" and tossed it into a movie. What a piece of crap.

Seems like an urban version of West Side Story(w/o the romance) or a dance version of 8 Mile.

Haha. Bernie Mac and Cedric were my two favorites from that.

If you want to laugh watch Robin Williams HBO special (don't know the rest of the name) but that had me in tears gasping for air.

It's even better if you saw it (Robin Williams) live...oh god I almost peed myself laughing at him.

Hell yeah! That Robin Williams On Broadway had even this brotha right here in tears. He just doesn't give a ****! The Kings of Comedy was funny too. Cedrick was one of the funniest acts! Especially when he took off running, and was also talking about brotha hockey player. OMFG!! (rofl) As for Turbo Matty P and his take on this....before any flaming starts, he has legitimate questions, but the maner in which he expressed it can rub some folks the wrong way. In other words, don't start the flamming today!

Yeah, not many people will get that running part. That was funny. If I see my friend take off for whatever reason im gone. I'll just ask what we were running about later. I also liked the dance battle. That was tight.

Crush Groove rocked.

I didn't think it looked that bad. The preview is entertaining to watch.

i'm gonna go see it. i'm a b-boy (breakdancer) and i been in battles (competitions), so i want to see how hollywood is gonna disect the culture and make it all violent and act like dancing can save the world. here's how it really goes. you battle, someone or a crew wins, you shake up and congradulate, then you walk away and practice for the next event. hardly any fights and it gets way more abstract then what the previews show. if you want to see some footage, go to www.bboyworld.com the raw footage section. peace

i'm gonna watch it 'cause i think that it's pretty intense...i've always wanted to learn how to do some break dancing and hip-hop stuff, but never dedicated myself.

i doubt it'll get violent in the movie...B2K and marques houston are really good dancers..they better not screw this one up

Cool link jophus...Im gonna check that out later.

jflo...just record some music videos or performances, stand in front of a mirror and dance. I haven't danced in almost 3 years. I need to get back into it so I don't lose my groove.
