Yay! For fast cars...

That sucks. Must be a nice car to make you not realize the speed you were going.

she's quite the quiet MSP...no turkey, just the lovely spooling sound of turbo :)

and he takes it like a man!!:)
i don't know why people get so upset when they get caught doing something wrong. Maybe if the cop is a jerk, but the one I dealt with was very polite.

I got a "lovely" ticket the other day coming off of 75 from the Wade Green exit. I was coming around the curve on Shiloh and there were the Cobb County cops with the radar catching several people as then came around. I was doing 52 in a 35 (I honestly thought it was 45). He was pretty cool about it and dropped it down to 49 so I wouldn't get points on my license since my driving record was good.

I moved here last year in August. All the time I lived in Florida, I had never been pulled over or gotten a ticket. Since I moved here, I have gotten 2 and both after Thanksgiving. Last year I got one the day after Thanksgiving heading to Kennesaw from Adairsville doing 87 in a 70 on 75 (Oops!) in the minivan. LMAO!

I just love driving my car so much, I forget how fast I am going! And, I guess, having the bright yellow car doesn't help my chances either?!

I was joking with him that we'd have to start a special high-yield savings account to take care of those things....

Called today to find out what the tickets cost:
Speeding (55mph in 35mph zone): $338
Expired tags: $130

I need to get a hold of the solicitor, and see what we can work out.

holy s***.....see if you had the evil monkey tag you would have gotten out of the ticket like I did Saturday lol

holy crap that ticket is huge i guess i know how they afford the kool cars they have now

You should try to fight the speeding ticket. I posted a link to that website that shows you how to fight them. Whats the worst that could happen - you end up paying the fine anyway? It's worth a shot anyway.

At least they're going to drop the expired tag ticket...but $338 is a big bite to swallow... :(

$338 sounds about normal for Doraville cops. I got one in Chamblee that was $250 for about the same speed. Only thing is, the judge added another $100 because I contested the ticket and lost.

Good luck with getting any kind of concession out of the Doraville PD.

YIKES! Mine ended up being $136 for my little speeding "issue." LOL! Last year's was $174.

WTF? Since when do you get fined for contesting a ticket!? Is that illegal too?

By the way, when you talk to the solicitor, phrases like "I can't really afford this ticket right now 'cause I just bought a TURBO for my car" won't gain any sympathy! ;)

Judge's discretion what the fine can be as long it falls with in the law.

In GA you CAN go to jail and face a $1000 for being 25 over. For 20 over I believe the jail time is dropped but the fine is $1000.
