So i was driving home from work on the freeway when this lil riced out civic gets right on my ass.... i stay in 5th but go to accel. and instead of my boost guage stopping at 7psi like its been my guage goes to 11 and then my whole enging like... studders and my car loses power... and now i cant spool up my turbo when idle like i used to it seems like im losing pressure somewhere but i still cant figure out why my psi would go up... and im experencing an over all lack of power thruout the car.. someone please shoot me..

sounds like a loose charge pipe. check all the connections from the turbo to the IC and from the IC to the MAF and from MAF to TB

When the car studders and loses power, I'm pretty sure that's what is referred to around here as "fuel cut". I'm not turbo so I haven't experienced it myself, but from what I've read it is what the ECU does to protect the engine from blowing up and stuff.

Check all your pipes as Mike suggested. If you do find a loose pipe or something and fix it, the problem may clear itself up or you could always try disconnecting the battery or something. I hope someone with more knowledge/experience with turbo cars and specifically the MSP setup chimes in with the info you need.

yup that's fuel cut. 10psi and up = fuel cut. like hitting a wall. might have a faulty wga

So what does the car do at idle, will it idle like normal or is it having trouble maintaining RPM? It souynds like you popped a charge pipe but it would stall bad if you lost a pipe. I lost a pipe and was able to gt the car into a parking lot but I almost got stuck in the middle of the street.

when im idle i jsut lose the rpms til the engine almost goes out... but then revs up a lil

then It does sound as you have a leak, my buddy just went through this where the nipple for the bpv cracked on him under boost and the car ran like crap. fixed that leak and all was better. Check around for a lose clamp or cracked pipe on loose vac line something is leaking.

But when mazda was looking at my car to find the engine code they said in the report that there was no leaks..

Same thing happened to me when I lost my BPV off the hot pipe.....(pissed)

I assume you are stock intercooler piping, so make sure you check the connections from the Turbo > Hot side IC and then cold side IC >TB. Those plastic pipes can expand and/or crack and loose their seal.

Check your vacuum lines. That much boost could have popped one off and that could throw a TON of s*** outta whack.

Just FYI when the MSP's first came out the Mazda dealership here sponsored a race, so they let this one guy fro mthe dealership race a brand new MSP. It had 20 KM on the odo when he took it for it's first run, and it ran good, but by the second run he had a MAD boost leak cause the charge pipes popped off somehwere. Nice way to treat a brand new car, I know, but somethign to check also.

Also check the waste gate actuator is functioning properly

well mazda is workign on the car right now so they said they found the leak it was one of the pipes connected to the boost guage

So the boost guage was leaking and now they say something is wrong with my waste gate actuator so now its been a week and i prolly wont get it back til monday..... why does god hate me so?

Ok Guys I've got my car back stock intake and intercooler and my boost guage has been dissconnected..

pipes don't connect to the boost gauge. vacuum lines do.

your boost gauge does not leak. what is there to leak?? your wastegate may be the culprit though.

yea but there were sevral vacume (sp) leaks i think all of my vacume lines have been replaced lol

i donno whats going on yet i know a little about cars so yea i'll scan and psot all the paperwork when i get it... i know there was a lot done that i didnt have to do but mazda dosnt like aftermarket s*** so ya... anyway i'll post all the stuff when i get it.
