I have read through threads addressing concerns regarding the factory rails and I am curious if anyone has known them to shear? I purchased Yakima RailGrabs with 58" crossbars and installed them. They are definitely secure but I feel the weakest link is the factory rails.The setup on the Yakima website with the factory rails gives a load limit of 150 lbs. I know the factory rails are only rated for 100 lbs but is there a chance that the Yakima setup increases the max load? I have a SkyBox 16 on order for a upcoming trip and I dont want to have any surprises on the trip.
