Xxx/45/17

Ok i've read a whole bunch of things about this but... so im gonna ask one last time

if i have 17'' rims will 45 tires fit... is it recommanded??

What is it you want to do with the car and have you lowered it? Since the 2001 Protege MP3 used 7x17 wheels and 205/45-17 Dunlop SP9000 tires, I think at least that size should fit. If your car is a sedan and not the a P5 you can probably use 215/45-17 tires as well since the 2003 and 2003.5 MSP used this size. The MSP is lowered slightly. As for larger sizes, some brands of 225/45-17 tires will fit. Other brands will rub in this size.

If you have 48+ offset or higher, 215/45 will definitely fit and 225/45 might fit, but you may need to roll your fenders (very easy, I did it in like 12 minutes)

i own a 2001 mazda protege(not p5)LX im not lowered but i might lowered it 1 inche or 2... my car has 4 bolts

thanks alex

My wifes car had 195/55R15 and I put a set of 215/40R17 on the car its a perfect match to factory, speedo is exact. and you dont have to worry about brake fade. the factory wheel circumference is 73.63 in, new is 74.67in, thats a difference of 1.39%. the becasue its still set with near stock diameter you still can lower the car. I'm lowering her car this spring 1.4" front, 1.8" in rear, and there shouldn't be a problem
