Yup. My car is gonna pretty much sleeper(to turbo) minus hearing the bov. lol. I'm gonna eventually get some rubber hoses, cut them and cover the SS lines for the oil feed and coolant.

Oh yeah, with the whole turkey thing, I took the filter off, didn't make a difference. It was in fact the pipe amplifying the turkey noise.

very interesting... I wouldn't have guessed...

awww ya. i know what compressor surge is, just didnt know thats what people call it. i think it kinda sounds cool personally...

Compression Surge, proteges are notorious for getting it, it sounds like the car is giggling or gobbling, so Turkey is what most refer to it as.

Is it the same sort of thing you'd get on a higher boost car that has no BOV, where the pressurized air basically gets pushed back against the turbo?

Yup, I think so. I'm gonna chop up the intake to make it as short as possible, and probably pick up a bpv.

IMHO, the answer isn't to get rid of the noise. The answer is to get rid of the compressor surge, since over time it is hard on the turbo. The BPV is a great idea, but I would seriously investigate the BOV to see if the existing spring can be adjusted to be softer or if you can get a lighter spring so the BOV will remain open longer under less boost. so less pressure is forced back against the turbo.

The V3 SSQV is self adjustable, supposedly you can't mess with the spring since its suppose to do itself.

Does anyone have their stocker laying around?

Stock bypass? I have one somewhere.

Did you swap it with the wastegate and run the bov off the BB line? Also how long is the vac line to the bov? You want it to be as short as possible.

Yeah, stock bypass.

No, not yet, I'm gonna try that here in a little. The vac line is 4ft I think. My bov is in the bumper so there really isn't anyway of making it shorter.

Thats gonna be tough where Dub has the BOV mounted... but running a dedicated vac line off the brake booster is still a very good idea.
