changes the way the transmission shifts. less slippage for a harder, cleaner shift.

Yea it shift a lot quicker and firmer. The stock valve body allows a LOT of slippage in order to make shifting smooth enough that you don't feel it. It's basically for comfort and completely sacrifices all performance.
