Damn. Went out to cruise night tonight, local car get together, she ran great there, no problems at all. But after sitting for a couple of hours, I started her to leave and the belts were squeaking a very tiny bit, but not a lot. I just take off like whatever but then when I stop at a stop sign in the parking lot, the car just dies on me. I tried to start it and it just didn't wanna turnover. I managed to kinda get it going and started pressing the gas. I got it started then it was running really rough. Popped the hood and nothing looked wrong. Then car stopped running rough out of no where but CEL came on. Drove it home just fine, w/ no problems.

Nothing was changed or touched, just kinda out of the blue. I don't get it? I'm gonna get the code checked out tomorrow.

damn, little bad luck with the car lately, huh? sounds like it might be a misfire....?
i'll be curious what the CEL is.

I have a feeling its a misfire as well. Just replaced the plugs on the way back from TBCM though.

When I got the car back from the repair, it had a CEL for random misfire but it drove fine and went away on its own, been gone ever since.

yeah, there are a whole lot of things including the plugs that can cause a misfire. but the running rough and wanting to die or dieing at idle definitely sounds like it....

0_o.. i battled my issue with misfire for a while. i changed the plugs and wires first but it wasnt it. it was the coilpacks. it would act up then go back to normal, but the last day when the coilpacks really died it was pouring outside lol. changed my coil packs and it was straight after that

no fun.

Where exactly are the coil packs? Are they those two plugs on top of the IM?

I got an extra maf right here so that ain't no biggie but the one currently on the car is only a year old or so.

coil packs are the things that go down and plug into the spark plugs. also the 2 little boxes that screw down to the valve cover, theres 2 plugs for them

Started it, BEFORE, I touched anything and it started fine. I plush the wires and plugs on the coil packs and it ran for 2mins w/ no problems. Revved it a little and it sounded great. Hmm...

Still gonna get the code though.
