X-Box 360 Scam (There's a sucker born every minute)

Hope this isn't already well covered territory, but I just have to say it. People are stupid!!! Especially when you add ebay to the mix. My buddy who camped out last night to get an X-box called me at work to tell me he got one but that he might sell it since the last one he saw on ebay sold for $1600.

So, when I came home for lunch I decided to check it out. In the first two minutes I watched a unit sell for $1850. That's bad enough, but the ****** up thing is that the price was driven up by multiple bidders who had no or negative only feedback.

How stupid do you have to be to continue increasing your bid when the person who keeps out-bidding you just joined the day after the release of the item you are about to mortgage your house to try to get?

It's obvious that people who are selling the consoles have created "fake" user id's to go out and bid on every X-box 360 so as to inflate the market. Idiots!

Anyhow, just my little rant. I hope no one on here is either the idiot willing to pay that much or the asshole who would screw over a lot of honest people just to raise the value of the item they are selling.

id give you rep, but im not allowed to :(

People ARE stupid Vodapas...but keep in mind simply BIDDING on an ebay item is pretty easy. Paying the MONEY after being the high bidder is a whole other thing all together. I'd say there's 99.9% likelihood that the high bidder won't actually pay the money and the seller will still be sitting there with his XBox.

Lmao! I love the headline on the newspaper in the picture. "Economy Goes Upward" Oh the sweet irony considering he's set his reserve at $5,000+ for an item with an MSRP of $300-400. Yeah, he better hope the economy goes way up.

for 150,000 you'd think he's at least pitch in for the shipping. sheesh

You would think that with the XBOX-360 class action lawsuits that were just filed and all over the News and internet-news sites in regards to defective XBOX 360 units, that people would stop paying crazy prices for them on eBay. I have noticed shadow bidding mostly on electronic items, lots of shadow bidding on iPods and they're probably using those same fake accounts now to jack up XBOX-360 prices.

I'm surprised that a company has not been established online that just helps people with shadow bidding and gives fake bids for products in return for a small percentage of the winning price of the item.

... talking about eBay, I bought a U2 ticket last night for tomorrow night's concert in Hartford, the face-value of the ticket was $ 97 with a $ 9 dollar Ticketmaster fee, and I was able to get that $ 106 ticket for 70 bucks on eBay (thumb) there are some deals to be found on eBay.

WTF! screw NFS most wanted, you can make your own car 10 seconds fast with that kinda loot! Not be insensitive but snot nosed lil jonny wouldn't be getting an xbox in my household at $15K

did you all see the class action law-suit on the 360. Some reason the chip overheats inside and shuts the thing off. I can't remember if someone posted it or if I read it on www.wired.com.
http://www.wired.com/news/business/0,1367,69767,00.html

Chicago man who bought Microsoft's new Xbox 360 has sued the company, saying the new video game console has a design flaw that causes it to overheat and freeze up.
The proposed class action claims that in Microsoft's (MSFT) bid to gain share in the $25 billion global video game market, the company was so intent on releasing the Xbox 360 before competing next-generation machines from Sony (SNE). and Nintendo that it sold a "defectively designed" product.

Anyone have the ebay post of someone paying over $700 for just an xbox360 box?
If I find it I'll post up.
