In the way that the session began and the way the Miata driver yielded the "lead", it appears to be a practice session in which the Miata driver was attempting to warm his tires. However, the Miata driver is a complete moron in doing so by hogging the track space and not paying attention to other drivers on course.
My bets are: practice session, novice/retarded Miata driver.
I'm sure it wasn't long before the black flag was pointed at the driver of the Miata.
