The bracket support bar (Part #TA06669B1) can be had for about $15-$20 new if a used one doesn't turn up.

The open pocket is about $12 new (Part #B02A669M0A).

Yeah everyone wanted $10-$15 to ship the little bracket though. I can justify paying that much to ship a tiny envelope. Figured one would turn up here (hopefully). Thanks though!

Damn, that's crazy for shipping. Have you tried your local Mazda dealer? Another suggestion would be to add a couple more things to your cart to justify the shipping. Like the Mazda6 wagon rear wiper mod.

Everyone here uses online mazda parts from what I've seen, and they are a MINIMUM $15 to ship anything. I don't get it. I haven't tried local yet. I've got a sedan so the rear wiper mod wont do me much good, but I DO have the mazda6 sedan delay wiper mod, which is probably the best thing I've ever done to that car.

Yes, I've used them plenty in the past and it sux that they upped their minimum shipping. I remember when it used to be $5/$6! Doh....didn't even realize you had a sedan, sorry about that. Yes that is a great mod, I've got a Tribute wiper switch in my P5 and a Mazda6 wiper switch in my MX-5. GL with the local dealer, maybe you can get them to macth OMP's discount and save shipping!

There's an open pocket on ebay for $11 shipped. Might get it cheaper via "Make Offer" option. I personally would offer $10 shipped

And like CTt3P5 mentioned, maybe your local dealer can get the support bar for a decent price if it came down to it. quirkparts.com's shipping is about $8 for the bar to NE. Still pricey but at least cheaper than some others

Nice price for the pocket. As for finding that support bar used here, it would be a long shot. Most people selling it would be selling it as a pair with the MSP pocket. Even then that is not always the case. I bought my MSP pocket here used and had to buy the support bar new through OMP.

There are a couple protege's in my local junkyard that are single din, but they just use the plastic bar that is molded into the dash. I assume this bar is actually metal? I wonder if any of the millenias or other mazdas in the junk yard actually use this bracket

Score... Glad you got it for $9 shipped. Some Mazdas came with the integrated plastic bar, but this piece we've been discussing is indeed metal and you would have to find some hardware to secure it (two bolts and some washers and nuts). You might check out a Milennia at your local yard as I recall the parts diagram showing it from the vehicle. You're halfway there!
