Looking for a pristine stock 17" 5-spoke Mazda 3 wheel in the Boston/Providence area. I scraped the front right against a curb, three days after we took delivery:mad: . Of course when we bought it I went to great lengths to tell the wifey to be extree careful around curbs with the 17" wheels/low profile tires.

hahaha... same thing happened to me... damn curbs... check out e-bay i have seen some on there but for one wheel prepare to be *****... i got a wheel protection thing through the dealership where if i curb one they replace it... aftermarket as well (up to 250 per wheel) not to shabby... and it was free...

I was offered a wheel protection insurance, but turned it down cuz I figured I wouldn't need it. It would have cost me $250 for up to $2000 in wheel damage. Little did I know, I would hit a curb within a week of owning the car. (hand)

Tsunami, what do you mean it was free? i wasnt even offered this.
how come it covers the aftermarket too?

i haggled and haggled and threatened to leave the dealership a couple times b/c they wouldn't move on the sticker price of my car... they kept upping my trade in value though wich was nice... then they added a 5 year to the warrenty but kept the same milleage, to me was a waste b/c i figured to be over the milleage anyways... then they tossed that wheel protection in and gave me another 2bills for my trade in it was a pos fallin apart isuzu pick up that they gave me 1200 for and then wheel thing wich i inquired about aftermarket and the customer service lady called up mazda and they said it was a set price per wheel...250iirc...so i just gotta find that documentation in my glove box cause i got two wheels that i have curbed that need replacin...

2nd reference I've seen for cheap wheels at the dealer ($250? $261? Sign me up!). I called two local dealers (incl. the one we JUST bought the car from last week) and got quoted $450. WTF?!

that sounds like a sweet deal. how much did you end up paying?

that is strange man, maybe because its mazda's program they rate the wheels at a lower value? 450 per wheel is way to much... i would wait and deal with the ugliness until you can find a wheel elsewhere... ebay or a forum would be your best bet...
