Hey guys, does anyone have a link or write up for directions to install fuel injectors? I have a chance to get a set of WRX injectors with less than 20K miles on them for $100. But I have no idea how to install them. I know its probably not that hard, but does anyone have pics or some step by step instructions?

Thanks.

I believe you just swap the old ones out for the new ones. But bump for you good luck

yeah, I know they should be a direct swap, but besides that is there anything special that needs to be done. Isn't there pressure in the fuel system? Or not. If i unplug one of them fuel is not gonna come out or something right.

I just want to make sure I don't do something stupid like spill gas all over my engine bay. (doh)

Very simple, trust me, took about like 15 minutes. The only i can say is don't be afraid if you see a little fuel come out when removing your stock injectors. also would suggest that your motor has fully cooled down. Theres only 4 bolts you have to remove and i think they are 12mm if i remember off the top of my head.

add a little petroleum jelly(vasoline) to the O-rings before you put them in,this will make it a hell of a lot easier, and won't allow the O-rings to tear or bind.

is that sarcasm terbow or are they really expensive

if you are referring to the injector to manifold "o-rings" then they are expensive, almost $50 retail

i was referring to the lil o rings in the fuel rail, they were not cheap. i cant remember how much but they are so little material and so much money. i tore 3 of them cause i didnt know to use lube.

Ok, so a 12mm socket and some vasaline should do it huh? Well, I guess I'll go ahead and buy them and see what happens.

side note: I was planning on switching to the 440 injector AFC map. Anyone had any trouble running this?

You should have a wideband to test after you do the swap.

i agree, it will make tuning much more easier. Because i dont know if my map will be the best on your car. It may be different on every car. i just uploaded it for a base map for people that are interested.

yea vasolene or motor oil. i used some oil this time and it worked for me cause i was out of vasolene.

And I Was Out Of Vasolene For Non Sexual Reasons.

But all the KY jelly was gone too... (upbum)

BUT good luck with the install, i think you need spacers to make them work with the stock fuel rail, but i can't remember exactly...

These need a spacer of some sort, no?

That is what I have always read.
