WOT issue... what could it be?

i am betting you'll see alot of people making posts like this as weather gets considerably colder. colder, denser air compounded by mods that allow the car build boost faster, hold it better, etc do not go well with a very controlling ECU :)

the ATP defender is a pretty reliable product from what we have seen thus far. the only thing that makes it dangerous is the temptation to start increasing boost beyond what the factory engine, turbo and fuel system can handle. so the danger lies within the end user.

This will be used as a bandaid until I can get some engine management on the car. I definitely will not be altering the boost otherwise. :-)

thats funny it got cold here and i installed my tbe and im having the same exactly problem you are. I was running stock boost ever since i installed my tbe. Cash said its my mbc and fcd so i took those off and it seem to have worsened. This absolutly sucks.

Wonder if the upgraded cam driven fuel pump is in order?

My BCD arrived today, I'll be installing it on Monday. I'll find out after that (once it gets cold) if that solves my issues.

Yup. I'm pretty sure the stocker just starts to leak at some point, keeping the boost pressure under a certain pressure.

I've got the Forge on now and last night it was around 32 degrees out. Above 3500 RPM in 3rd, if I floor it, I'd get instant wheelspin. (rofl) 4th thru 6th, starting around 4000 RPM, anything between 75% and 100% throttle meant fuel cut.

So is this issue caused by a simple CAI, or is it due to all the compounded mods; specially the down-pipe and test pipes...?

Just would like to know before I start messing with my MS3...

Multiple mods WITH aftermarket BPV. I have not hit fuel cut with the stock BPV.

Any of you guys that have this problem have a datalogger? I would love to see what is happening when the fuel is cut. If it is true that the stock BPV is leaking then it would be an easy test to log at minimum, boost and RPM with the stock BPV and an aftermarket one.

I would do this but I don't have an aftermarket BPV :( Anyone willing to donate? ;)

My car is still doing this. Its just slightly in 4th and 5th gear. Seems like its blowing out spark or pulling alot of timing. Just kinda falls flat and then comes back and forth. Doesnt do it in the first three gears. Just right when I hit 4th and it starts holding good boost the car falls flat in and out. Weird. I checked the plugs and they look good and are gapped at .028 from the factory. All hose clamps are good and no other issues. its pissing me off and Im still on stock bpv also. My only mods are test pipe, atp bcd, and bc. If anyone knows whats going on here let me know. If I had a datalogger Id try and see whats going on.

I notice that with the boost cut killer that I have yet to trigger a CEL. Would a CEL be triggered by the stock MAP sensor seeing too much boost?

It did seem to help a bit. Instead of feeling like I slam on the brakes, it now just breaks up a bit at WOT. I put the stock BPV back in again.
