Worst Day Ever!!!!!!!!!!

Ok this has beent he shittest day for my car yet. I have this killer coolant leak on ym turbo that takes me the majority of the day to get to- diagnose- and fix... Then I hit my head on the car door and have this HUGE knot on my head and it f*cking hurts!

THEN...

I go to lower the car off the jackstands and the jack slips and the car drops but the jack catches it ont he underbody.... Not only does it make a huge bump in the underbody that is noticable on the passenger side flooring, but my rear window shatters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes it shattered! Probably from the shocking crashing movement. :'(

So I have a few questions. A.) if I have full glass covereage on my ins- does it replace the rear window? and B.) If not, how much do they cost to replace?

Thanks in advance guys. Sorry I'm so bitter.

Dude, that sucks big time. I would think if you have glass insurance it would replace it. What else would glass insurance be for?

As far as replacing it, I have no idea how much the glass costs dealer wise. If it is available after-market, it might be cheaper.

It all depends, on an older Protege I had the glass broke. The dealr glass was cheaper than the after market piece. But labor at the dealer was higher than at the after-market glass shop.

I lucked out though. Bought the glass at the dealer, took it to the shop, they broke it and I got the better more expensive after-market glass free.

Anyway, sorry that everything got messed up.

DAMN THAT SUCKS!

I would think that all glass is covered by insurance.

How the hell did the jack slip?
DId you get that coolant leak taken care of?

that suck. im always afraid my car is gonna slip off the stands. they always creep when i jack the oppisite side of the car. BTW: where do you place your jacks. i always have a problem finding a good spot. if you put it where the spare jack is it crushes the metal.

I always put the jack stand in the jack points...It has never hurt anything for me.

I thought that is what the jack points were designed for. If it is bending the metal, then I don't think you are on the jack point.

I don't know if insurance will cover a breakage that resulted from something you did, even though it was an accident.

You might have to come up with an interesting story. :)

Technically, you're not covered for the glass....thats because you did it yourself, but you can just say that someone threw a brick throught the windshield or something:(

You certainly can be covered. If it is truly comprehensive coverage, then anything that happens to the glass is covered, hence the term....."comprehensive." :)
If it is theft/crash/natual act coverage, then yes, you will have to pretend someone knocked it out.
If you run your car into a pole with comprehensive coverage, it's your fault. Soooo, does the insurance not cover that?
REAL useful stuff.

If it happened at your house too you might be able to get it covered under your homeowners insurance. But usually that has a $500 deductable so you'd only be saving around $100 depending on the place. YOu could go to a junk yard and try to find a window intact and have someone install it. Never know what you'll be able to find. But regardless, if you have comprehension you will be covered. Doesn't matter how it happened, if something happens to your car, it'll be fixed. The only way it won't is if say you blow your car up because you don't like it anymore, and they investigate and find you guilty of arsen. Then you won't be covered.
