WOOWOO RX7 Brake Conversion!!!

The rotors were the excat diameter and thickness as stock, when I changed them out i did a visual comparsion...i didn't mic them so there might have been a small difference but not enough to matter. The new pads I'm sure had some hand in it, but i dont think i wouldve gotten the kind of braking I was getting with the metallic pads and stock type rotors. Yeah i did change a lot...kind of wishing I had done some actual tests now instead of the seat of the pants test. Anyone wanna donate a set of rotors and pads??? lol....anyways; I will say that cross drilled do take longer to break in than do stock rotors I noticed that first off, it took one good hard run down the back roads after setting the pads to the rotors for them to get good.

Slotted's will only add marginal performance over stock IMO, theres really just not that much room for gas explusion, which is what the slots are for. Thats one reason that slotted rotors that dont have slots to the outside of the rotor do no good what so ever. If you wanna make a big difference add a good set of cross drilled rotors and some metallic pads. You don't necassarily have to have bigger rotors, just more effecient ones.

Yeah, but drilled = less surface area.

Slotted that don't extend all the way out SHOULD still work, because the gas will go in the pocket, and then will be freed when it turns free of the caliper.
