Wont go past 4000 rpm under heavy load

Hey guys,
I recently put a hiboost kit on my P5, I have a MSP ECU, Split Second, AEM Wideband as well.

What happens is the car does not rev higher than 4000 rpm under heavy load (you know what I mean...) At or around 4000 i get hard bucking, i have tried pushing through it but it doesnt work.

I have new spark plugs (gapped at .30), New wires.

Got any ideas?

What is your wideband o2 reading when this happens? what size injectors and how much boost on what sized turbo?

I had the same problem and I was hitting fuel cut, the dsm guys eliminate this by going to a maf translator and a 3in gm maf I'm not 100 percent sure if it will work for mazdas but I ended up going with bigger injectors to bring up afr

Partial throttle will take me to redline ( just found out tonight)

Because that is "Partial Boost" as well

The more boost you put in the chamber, the harder it is to fire the mixture and more likely of a misfire.

You might never know that a coil is weak until you put load on it. I was getting the same thing a couple of years back... A brick wall at 14 Psi. It would go no higher if I was anywhere near WOT...

It is one of the reasons I went with the AEM Ignition system. It fires two or more massive sparks to make sure that a misfire can not occur, and that the spark actually consistently burns the mixture at the exact same time, every time. No point dialing the Ignition curve to 1Degree if the coils fire +/- 5 Degrees depending on the load or fuel quality.

Did you actually upload the fuel map onto your split second? It says that it comes preloaded onto the unit, but when I installed mine, I couldn't give it anything or it would buck and start sputtering. I uploaded the stock supermap and the problem went away.
