Wish me luck, I'm suing Tweeter today!!

That's right today David (me) goes up against Goliath (Tweeter) in small claims court.

I took my stereo to them to troubleshoot when it broke. They said they tested everything and that both my amps and my cap were fried. I bought new gear. Later I found out that the old amps worked fine!! (chair) (chair) Tweeter lied to me and took my money!!! (pissed)(pissed) Today is reckoning day (guns)!!!

I'll let you all know if I win any money.

the tweeter in your area must suck, but i can say that that is not typical tweeter work......................at least not where i live

I work for tweeter but if they screwed you TAKE THEM TO THE ******* CLEANERS. I don't tollerate that s*** no matter who did it.

To help in court you will need to prove the amps that were broken now indeed work!

Get a 12 volt power supply that can give atleast 15 amps and hook up a quick display to show the judge it still works. Simply a power supply amp and speaker, if it ran a sub then you will have to run a sub.

What was going wrong with the system that you took it in for?
What did they originaly conclude?
What did they do when you told them the old amps were fine?
Did you ever talk to the manager?

These are going to be huge questions for the judge!

(beer)I friggin won some damn money(drinks)$350 plus court costs (and I get to keep my new RF450s and RF750x amps) - and now I'm sloppy!! I 'preciate your support, including you, NH. Not all Tweeters are bad, just the one I ran into - actually just the technician I ran into, he just lied to his boss and made the situation worse.

Actually the thing that sealed it for me was the technician I dealt with (who told me the amps were fried) didn't even bother to show up. It was comedy, these jokers!!!(rofl) Some other dude took his place and he goes to the judge:

Dude: "Uhh sir I have a statement from the tech who did the troubleshooting"
Judge: "Oh really? Why didn't you introduce it as evidence at discovery?"
Dude: "Uhh, it's not a written statement, he just told me what he said" ((rofl))
Judge: "Well, I can't really give that much weight since it's basically second-hand heresay"

I honestly wasn't sure how strong of a case i had. Details are below if anyone cares. It began when:

- In Dec 2002, my roommate backed his big ass ram into my trunk.
- It was raining and water got in the trunk (my amps/cap are mounted on the rear seats - RF 400a4, 500a2, 1F cap).
- Stereo stopped working after the repairs in Jan
- Couldn't figure out what was wrong, fuses would immediately blow.
- took car to TWEETER to troubleshoot and for proof that the equip was broke so I could get working gear, paid 'em $45.
- The technician said he tested everything and that the amps and cap were all fried.
- Went to eBay and bought brand new cap, RF 750X (94x4@4ohm), RF 450S (450x1 @4ohm).
- Went to body shop for them to pay (since stereo broke when I received the car back) they told me to get 2nd opinion.
- 2nd opinion discovers only cap is broke, amps are fine.
- I take to Tweeter and show them, the tech says I'm lying.
- I say look - install the new gear for free and give me my $45 back and we'll be square.
- Tweeter dude says "no way jose", we'll give you $45 but that's it.
- I says, "see your ass in court!" HAHA
- Judge orders them to pay $350 plus fees and I get to keep the new amps.(flash)(getsome)(flash) (getsome) (flash)

hell ya, i used to drive a 1996 chevrolet z71 with a 8" lift and a bad ass stereo system. anywho... i had an alpine v12 amp pushing 2 10" jl w3s. 1 day a sub quit workin so i took it back to MobileOne and the guy was all like ya, u blew a sub, go ahead and switch out to get sum hx2s blah blah blah. i told him to **** off and i took it to tweeter to replace my jl and upon inspection found out that a channel in my amp was fried or sumthin so they simply rewired it and it sounded awesome, i didnt have anything to sue mobileone for but i gave the manager a good **** off speach a week later
