Wiper ?

I have read about the wiper mod for the PR5 so I looked at mine, it is an 03 with the mid year refresh (it has the subwoofer& amp). Well it has three wiper speeds intermitent 1 and 2. and the rear wiper has two speeds as well I belive. So is this new or will the unit from the MPV be an upgrade?

MPV would be an upgrade. It has progressive variable speeds instead of just 3 settings.

So all that would really be neeed would be the new stalk?? No wiper motor or relays or anything else like that from the donor MPV?? Thanks a lot. I really hate the fact that I only have 3 wiper speed choices. Hell, my gf has a Neon (I fawkin' hate that car) and she's got like a bajillion different speeds.

Correct. Check out mazdaperformance.com for the stalk and I believe there is an in-depth "how to" somewhere in these forums. To my knowledge it's quite easy to do.

yep...its just a 15 minute job...you simply take two screws out that holds the stalk in place...unplug it...plug in the '99-up MPV stalk and install the two screws....then put the column plastic covers back on....which took three screws out to remove.....piece of cake..

what it does is give you a totally adjustable intermitten wipers...insted of a single speed.

I have done this mod to both of our P5's

Mazdastuff.com has the stalk for $79 and its like $95 over the counter at your local mazda dealer.

Oh man, I forgot about this mod. I was going to do it awhile back. Thanks for asking about it. I am going to get it next week. I love this forum. Could have used it tonight with all the stop and go rain I have been getting here in MN. Peace.
