Another Edmontonian! If you haven't bought your winters already, I seriously recommend you look into the Nokian Hakkapellitta RSI's. I'm into my third winter on them, and they're as good as the day I bought them. Great on dry pavement, ice, all kinds of snow, slush, etc. (thumb) Plus, unlike a lot of so-called winter/snow tires, they are winter tread ALL the way through - most winters (Blizzak, the Michelin's, Toyo's and Dunlop's I believe) are winter tread only on the outer half; the inner half is actually an all season.

[threadjack] By the way, if you haven't already, check out www.edm-mazdaclub.com. We're having our last official meet of the year next week - come out and join us! :) [/threadjack]

Puttin on my dunflop stockies cuz im too cheap to invest in snow tires!!

I hope you know that you are tempting fate using those dunlops in snow...they can barely hold there own on damp roads. Seriously, I found that out that the hard way... 2 weeks after I picked up my p5 i crashed it into a curb during a snowstorm causing all sorts of horrible damage to my suspension. keep that in mind when you are thinking about taking a turn a little faster than what you think you should...

just my $0.02

Thanks for the heads up! I'll be sure to drive slower than normal this winter.

185/65/14 Toyos, I'm putting them on this weekend....you never know when the snow will hit.

no snow in southern/central WI yet, but the jack and torque wrench are standing by :)

usually, yeah. I have a spare set of rims with the snows mounted, so when I get a first light snowfall I take the next weekend or so and slap them on

Im using the stock rims with some Toyo Garrit HT's, worked pretty good last winter here in Edmonton and plenty of tread left on them.

I would wait till the first snowfall but I don't think the Falkens would cut it in the snow....I also like to hose down and clean the rims before I store them and can't do that when its below freezing.

Just bought a set of Dunlop Winter Sport M3's (195/55R16) and another set of affordable alloy rims (Sport Edition F2) from Tirerack. I'll get them next week sometime, just in time for the snow to start flying :) Ratings look very promising so I'm really looking forward to them. I have some good all-seasons now, but they don't work good on packed snow and ice (no sipes), but otherwise do ok in the winter.

14" Steelies and 185/65/14 Blizzak WS-50s. I freakin love em.

I am glad to see alot of us are concern with the snow to use snow tires( I would not want to lose my P5 due to snow (sad1) )
Now, who has them on? Or are you waiting for the 1st snow puff to come down to put them on(it may be too late)??

Mine have been on since Oct. 29th.
