Windshield strip!

Has anyone tinted their top part of the windshield? My P5 is in silver, and thinking to tinted it silver color. Do they put it on the outside or inside? If inside how r they going to get around where the rear view mirror glue to the glass? how much do they usually charge?

are you talking about a visor across the the top of the windshield? If that's what you want, it's just a vinyl strip that they stick on the OUTSIDE of your car. It's not more than twenty bucks (including installation), very easy to take off if you change your mind, too.:)

If you're going to add anything to the front windshield you'll have to watch you don't destroy it with the wipers & ice scrapers come winter time. Also better check your state laws; you'll be adding a solid piece you can't see thru if you use vinyl

I never understod those things ~~ why put something on your windshield that cuts your field of view in half, and looks horrible at best. Maybe it's cause some little Tokyo rice boy had it on his skyline and we saw it in SCC that we all needed to go out and put them on our civics, metros, integras, etc. ~~ how stupid. I want to strangle some people who think just cause it comes from slope land, it must be better. Maybe they do not mind the 1/2 redcuction in vision ~~it really dosen't affect them that much~~~~~~try to follow me here ;)

jdmp5...I have a midnight blue MP5. When I got my windows tinted the guy threw in the sun strip at no charge. It starts at the top of the windshield and goes down 6"-8". They way he put it on is he laid a piece of tint acroos the windshield from the outside, trimmed it then went to work inside. I have to admit it freaked me out when he pryed my rearview mirror off but I kept quiet. He fixed the tint, trimmed out where the rearview mirror bracket went and then adheared everything back the way is supposed to be. You can't even tell it was removed.

Lower your visors and you cut your field of vision too. So who cares. Let each its own.

I agree with the "Mac Daddy." I can't say I haven't thought of doing this myself, so I'm not one to make fun of what JD wants to do.. I'm pretty petite and the visors sometimes don't help me much. I drive against the sun in the mornings, and that can become blinding. I thought the vinyl across the top of the windshield might help with that, but I never got around to it - bought some sunglasses instead!

when i got my mp3 tinted blue, they took off my mirror, and cut around the bracket. its blue down to the bottom of the bracket all the way across.

ILMP5 - the pic is crazy blurry, but is that one of those Razo auto shift knobs I see?

If not - well, what the hell is it, and how was it installed?

I'd love to get one of the Razo's, but I know I'd want to cut down the lever before installing it - sits up too high otherwise.

And what did you do to get the steering wheel to look like the MP3 wheel?

One more: What rims are those, and what size? They look like stock-size 16s.

Thanks.
