Window tinting and Silverstars

What would you guys consider a good price for tinting the back half of the MP5 ? One dealer quoted me $180 for LLumar film and a lifetime warranty; thus far, that's been the best price i've found.

Is it worth replacing the high beam bulbs with Silverstars ? The reason i ask is becase Sylvania is running a promotion where you buy one set of Silverstars and receive another at half price.

Thanks !

Andrew :D

if u use your highbeams alot it is.. -=)
i tinted my whole car for 125.. an i live in cali..

I can tint a whole MP5 for less then 150 in Maine. And thats like 20% black with a warrantee. He wont give me a sticker for it, but he'll fix it if something happens. Look for private shops.

I'm thinking of just getting the 2 sets of silverstars regardless of whether or not I put in the high beams ( though I probably will ). I could always just ebay the other set for a small profit. :D

what type of warranty did they give you at the shop? 125 seems pretty cheap to me, almost too cheap. did they do a good job?

lifetime warranty.. everything but the front windows.. -=) formulaone windowtinting.. they did a awesome job..

I got my MSP done for $195. Comes with lifetime warranty(includes bubbles, peeling, scratches, etc...) It looks Great on Orange MSP with Black interior...Later,

I paid $150, lifetime warranty with yellow tint. Still would love to see a spicy msp with orange tint.

that yellow p5 with yellow tint looks pretty mean. i wonder how the tint would look on my orange msp.... i dont have the balls to do it before anyone else tho :-(

Thanks alot for all your input. I suppose $180 isn't too bad if it comes with a lifetime warranty and they use good quality film.

Does anyone have any pics of a silver mp5 with silver tint ?

BTW the Silverstars are really nice! I got them installed on my PR5...here are the pics...

This one is with my Eurolite Low Beams (soon to be Silverstars)

Mine is dark all around, top of the line, lifetime warranty w/free replacement for any reason whatsoever, for only $110. I've had it for over 6 months and it still looks the same as the day I first did it. I live in Southern California, which usually means prices are high for everything, especially gas prices.
And sorry to say, but colored tint is just tacky. (Here comes the    ...)

well i did my tint for 70 bucks with Llumar platinum plus 20% in the back and 30 in the fronts. i don't have a digicam right now so i can't really take any pics but i think it looks pretty good. since i just bought the film from the shop myself there is no warrantee but if it does mess up i can just b**** to myself (i installed it- damn that was a good waste of a day) and just try to do the window over. hell yea im cheap but it works. honestly i don't see the point in getting professional tint if you have the time and patience to do it yourself (oh and a friend that used to work at a tint shop)

You get what you pay for. I had my last car tinted for $170 by a guy in my neighborhood and it was with cheap tint and the guy left a mess in the car and scrathed my paint. I just had my MP5 done by the guy that is rumored to be the best in the area and the guy was the balls, he does tint for all the luxury car dealers in Boston and even tint for sick pasta rockets featured in the mags. He charged me $250 for metallic 35% on the sides and back and 5% on the moonroof and top 6" of the windshield. It came out perfect and the car was clean when he was done. Getting it done right was worth the extra $$$.

i think equinox has pics of his car with silver tint? maybe its just reflective.. i donno.. pm him an ask -=)

Mmm ... those silverstars look sweet :) I'm thinking of replacing just the lowbeams ... and the fog lights, since I use them the most often. I plan on blinding anyone on the opposite side of the road ! (laugh) (laugh) (laugh)

I just spent 3 and a half hours detailing the MP5 ... wash, polish, wax, vacuum, etc etc. It looks good enough to eat. :D I think I could have been done an hour sooner, if i didn't stop every five minutes to stare at the damn thing. ;)

Hi, I'm Andrew, and I'm in love with my Protege 5. :D

Oh and yes they do make <a href="http://orderxenarc.sylvania.com/orderxenarc/productenlarged.asp?ProductId=153900&CId=%7B79DC1760%2D73D3%2D4141%2DB159%2D4B422E093393%7D&NC=3162003175354">Silverstar H7</a>

Does anyone know the difference between the Halogen model and the Sealed beam model ?
