Had it done at Tommy's Window Tinting over the weekend. They did an awesome job, very professional and very cool guys.

We did WA legal on the sides and back, then 50% on the windshield to block out light and make it look darker than the legal amount. The film used is designed to reflect some of the color so it matches with the car better, not just black. Just a very small amount of reflective property.

I don't think so... I'm pretty sure that's not legal anywhere.

The reason for this is to make it look darker with out having illegal tint on the sides. If I'm pulled over and checked for % on the side windows I'll be fine. The windshield is pretty discrete and only 50%.

right, gotcha. the tint meter tool that cops use are really only designed to work on the side windows. cant exactly use it to check the front/rear windows. when i read "legal" i thought you meant the front too, but thats a clever tinting trick ^_^

Well in this area the cops just have this business card type thing... The stick it on the inside of the widnow and if they can't read it then it's too dark. I would imagine it could be done on the windshield just the same too. I just doubt they would do that or think to do that.

Either way, I wanted the windows darker than standard legal. This is the lesser of two evils I guess you could say. :)
