Window Deflectors/Rain Guards

My 07 came with smoked rain guards (window deflectors). One is off the car but I have it to put back on. Just curious to know what others think of these things. I've never been a fan of them, never wanted them or purchased them for any car I've owned (and I've owned a lot of them). Since thins one has them I have to decide on whether to clean up and put the one back on, or just remove them all. Tell me what y'all think.

They work great here in Cali during hot days, which happens to be almost year round, and also on rainy days. Crack the window open to air out on hot days and its not visible, crack them open on rainy days while driving to let fresh air in (as all us 5 owners know that fresh air from vents its actually not fresh but warm to hot air) without getting wet.

I like them. We usually leave windows slightly open year around, keep that car fresher.

I've come to that conclusion in the last week. Must be because of the long air routing through the lower center dash?

If only one came off and the others were solidly mounted, I'd probably remount the loose one.

Down here in Southeast Texas, I don't see a lot of cars with those window deflectors. Most people around here leave their windows rolled up and deal with the heat/humidity with window tint and windshield screens when parked. Parking under trees helps, but all that means is your car is going to be blasted by bird crap. Plus, keeping the windows up keeps the mosquitoes out. Driving around with a car full of mosquitoes sucks. :D

When I first get in any car of mine that has sat outside in the heat, I roll all my windows fully down to let the heat out while AC is cranking. I only have to do that about a minute or two while I drive away, then the windows go up and the AC catches up. :)

I would remount the loose one for all the reasons already mentioned. FiftySix, one of the common complaints about the 5 is that the AC isn't able to keep up without some kind of assistance, ie tint. Your car has the biggest change made to address that problem, being the rear seat fan/vents. I haven't had serious issue with mine since I tinted all the rear area windows to 5% but many folks don't like it that dark. And yes, driving with a car full of mosquitos does suck :p
