Window calibration out

Hi guys,

I've got a 2000 Mazda Demio which I just got. I tried to use the auto function to wind up the window and it went up then came half way back down.

If someone knows the method to calibrate the window, your help will be much appreciated.

I've already tried different reset methods for Mazda's which I found through searching online but didn't succeed.

Thanks.

Is it possible its detecting a 'pinched' finger and had to go down? i.e.
sticky/obstruction on the window guides?

Anyway, I'm not sure if its the same concept as the mazda5 sunroof. But here
is the sunroof calibration for the MAZDA5.

Please do let us know if you find the solution.

Thanks for that information. The vehicle is at the panel beaters at the moment and when I get it back I will try that method and let everyone know what the outcome is.

I have not torn into the doors of Demio/M2 but I've replaced many power window actuators and installed aftermarket power windows in 3 vehicles. None had a calibration mechanism. The wire connects to the glass clip(s) and wind/rewinds based on the direction. The pressure stops the up or down travel. I'd agree with Skyhawk that something might be binding and causing the issue. Have you been into the door panels or has the door been hit hard lately?

With age (usually over 7 years old or more), I've seen a window with 2 or 3 clips have an issue when one of the clips (usually plastic) crack and so the glass isn't in true alignment and causes a bind. You'll most likely have to pull the door panel to see if it's binding.

this happened to me on my 2011 M2 and i asked the guy at the dealership about it and he said something about a "learning function" built into the power windows... lower the window and hold the switch in the DOWN position for 8 seconds then raise the window and hold it in the UP position for 8 secs and it should work fine!

The vehicle doesn't have any accident history. I have been reading that the window starts doing this if somewhere along the line the battery has been changed, therefore they do need to get re-programmed.

ya thats the "learning function" lets you reprogram the window

Well, I learned something today. I've never seen that before.

Hey guys sorry for the late reply just been quite caught up with work. I tried both the processes given by SurlySays and skyhawk but it didn't work. If anyone has any other methods please let me know.

The method SurlySays noted works on VW/Audi as well. Other than that one I have no clue.
