Will Unichip support my mods?

I have looked around on the Forum, and some have said that the unichip is great for stock/light modded cars. Will my mods be too much for the unichip to make that big of a difference?

you'll be fine, if anything you'll mods will make the gains greater.

generally people w/ upgraded fuel, turbo, internals are the people unichip isn't ideal for b/c that is when unichip needs to be remapped. it's not like unichip can't handle those heavy mods either, just need to find a authorized dealer who can which can be tough.

yes, the maps that it comes with has a certain amount of leeway in its tuning that it will accomodate. however, to maximize the potential of the unichip, it should be custom tuned to your mods.

yeah, that's the downside to it! i'm planning on getting a unichip soon... and i found a unichip tuner about 20 mins from me. :)

Are you getting a deal on the Unichip? Also i wonder how much it costs to have it fine tuned.

Ben (horsepowerfreaks) has a deal for $780 right now. I also have a Unichip authorized dealer about 20min away and he quoted me about $300 to fine tune it. That includes dyno time.

Most people who modify cars do not have the knowledge to tune an EMS.

There's tons if info on these units on this board by the way...

*I'm still getting 25/27mpg @ 250+ horsepower (crank) with Unichip.

I will be ready to buy one, after i pay off the FMIC. Untill then i will continue to fine tune my car. By the way will the unichip fix the stalling issues, without having to relocate the Maf?

I rode in JDM Sam's car with the unichip installed, you'll definately notice a performance gain. I'll be getting one in a few months when the money's ready.

vodas is selling the unichip for $650 .. but i think he is located in hawaii, so shipping will add extra cost to that. i am interested in a unichip that is local to me here.

i found a local unichip tuner through the Unichip website.

I emailed them and they quoted me $130/hr for dyno and tune. so i am assuming it takes roughly 2-3 hrs to tune the car.

if u dont have someone to tune it dont buy it. I have it and it was great but i hit its limits and i have no one to tune it.

300 for a tune is a good deal and probably worth it. Unichip is plug and play, so probably the easiest to install.

This is not a matter of 'not supporting your mods'... It's a matter of the stock/default/standard maps not being tuned/set to do that. What you are planning on doing is beyond the realm of what most Unichip users want. It will be

The current maps were designed around stock injectors. There has been some, but not a whole lot of interest in new maps for bigger injectors. This is something that I was hoping to have done by now however. Once I'm able to produce the bigger injector fuel maps with Unichip US people will be able to send their box to them directly to get upgraded.

TorqueFreaks, the service department next door to me here is suppose to be getting the software to tune Unichip. So I might be working with them to offer new maps.

But the Unichip Boost is set a 10psi with a 12psi peak right?

The boost goes to 12psi in the mid range then back down to 10psi in the top end where there's not as much fuel available.
