Will the MS3 have the same issue as MS6 with a CP-E downpipe?

the seals can be a issue on some of the turbo seals. some mess up and some dont, but the downpipe will just add to the turbo seal wear since it is indeed spooling faster that it is intended to spool. can the seals be changed or upgraded?

I've heard that the turbo can be reworked to flow more and in the process the seals will be repaired/replaced. Takes about a week and I don't know the cost. Big Timm is the guy who posted about it on this forum in the Speed6 section. Presumably the seals can just be replaced but I've heard that guys are getting the whole turbo replaced by Mazda so that tells me the job is probably pretty involved.

i thught ya'll already knew why it smoked !
let me tell you... the turbo seals are not "faulty" they are designed that way.
the turbo seal is whats called a "floating" seal. it is not full seated or secured...ever. it relys on some backpressure to be present to properly funtion. when the backpressure is removed (via free flowing exhaust) the seal gets a lot of blow by and smokes. the only way to not blow smoke is to replace the turbo, or at least the seal with a different type. mazda used thhis type of seal because it is know to last longer than conventional fixd seals, however it is not mod friendly.

ok so at least i know there is a fix for the problem. seal change, or eventually what most of us are going to do...turbo change

This makes a lot of sense, thanks for clearing things up a bit.
