Will i pass emissions sniffer test without 2nd cat...

I have to get my Mp3 inspected and it is the first time that NY has the sniffer test. I just put the first cat back on and the cel went away. I was thinking, if i take out the 2nd cat, the one with no o2 sensors, and put on my 3' test pipe, will i be able to beat the sniffer, or will it fail me? My turbo can't live with all this restriction.

why not just leave it on until you get the test done?

i'm planning on it, but i just was thinking about when i take it off after the inspection. for next years inspection i don't wanna have to put it back on if i don't have to.

my dad is a ny inspector..... #1 if any cel is on or you fail any obd2 codes you fail........ they run the codes for you.... so go to autozone or anywhere near you and have your obd2 run and clear it...... as far as if you have a snog test i cant help any their...... if you have any questions ask and i will ask my dad what they look for... and fail for.........

keep in mind you are going to be running richer than most because you are turbocharged. this along with removal of the cats will affect how the sniffer plays out. the first cat is the more restrictive of the two to be sure.

i'm guessing with at least one cat you will probably pass. any check engine lights for most states using a sniffer test will fail you automatically. what is the penalty for failing a test? try it once without your cats on, then could you go back and retake it then?

I'm pretty sure they fail you if any cat is removed, also and codes going. Just leave both cats on, clear your codes, you'll be fine. For next year, I dunno wut to tell you, other than save your cats so you can put them back on
