Mazda P5
I just found someone who is selling a set of 16" steelies with Blizzak WS 50 205/60 tires off of a Mazda 6. Does anyone know if these will work on my P5?? He's about a half hour away so before driving thought I'd ask.
He only wants $150 for them so it's a great deal, the Blizzaks are at 60%, but it's still a great deal if they will fit. I appreciate the help

i run a 205/55 on the stock 16s and there is still plenty of room, i dont see why this should be a problem. someone correct me if im wrong!

yea thanks i knew i was forgetting something, make sure the offset is around +50, and the dimensions of the wheel is 16x7

Sounds about right but after plugging those numbers in to the calculator and it says the speedo will be off 8.3% (60mph will be 65mph) and that they will fill the wheelwells out an extra 25mm.

Same held true for 16x6.5 +52 offset/16x7 +60 offset.

I guess the 60 series is just too high?

that calc site is neat...i'm running a +1 size and when ever i have the cruise set at 75(5 over) i always wondered why cops flashed their lights at me...i'm closer to 80...whoops

I'm thinking 205/60 16's might rub tread on the strut tower spring platforms. I have some 195/65 15s that clear by only about 1/8 inch (both front & rear). So don't forget that's also a limitation. My guess is if the tread is full, forget it. Half worn Blizzaks - maybe. I want to say snow tires can run a little off on size (maybe smaller), but you'd have to measure. I'm even wondering if they just barely fit if snow might build up heavy onto the strut platforms? Just a heads-up.

FYI the 205/60 did rub on the struts. I jacked up the car and put them on, but they did rub on the struts. They were much bigger than I expected they would be and even if they hadn't rubbed, they pretty much would have filled the entire wheel well and might have rubbed on the outside of the wheel wells while turning. Oh well, if they would have fit it would have been a great deal as the tires were still in awesome condition and everything else cleared fine.
