wierd?

i was looking at the specs for the renesis engine and noticed something wierd. i had an rx-7 before and you could use regular unleaded because rotarys dont really need to use premium gas... but as i was looking at the specs for the rx-8 for gas type it showed premium only... just something wierd i noticed...

My 1993 Prelude Si said premium fuel only near the gas indicator in the instument panel

Probably needs the premium because of the higher compression ratio. The last thing you want is for a rotary engine to detonate....bye bye apex seals

previous turbo rotary cars required premium gas, but the N/A cars did not..

The 2nd gen miatas require premium only too.

Yup, higher compression will usually mean you need to use premium for best performance, or on this rotary for longer engine life. Rotary+Detonation=$$$ in a short time!!!
