Wierd squeek in driver's seat...

:
2008 TR Mazdaspeed 3
So as the title says, there is this really wierd and annoying squeek coming from the seat mounting of the driver's seat when ever I drive my MS3? Any ideas what that is or what I could do about it. I'll probably end up reporting it to the dealer when I go in for the next servicing.

Mine does it too. I forgot where I read this but it seems to be coming from the bolt that attaches the seatbelt buckle to the seat. Some ppl have had success by just WD40ing that bolt - I have yet to try this for myself.

my 8.5 is doing this as well...and i think it is coming from the seat belt area too. took me forever to find out where it was coming from, cuz i would hear it and try to duplicate it again by moving all around, so my wife was looking at me with a strange face when i was squirming around. she thought my 'roids were acting up or something

later i was able to duplicate the problem everytime when i breathed in deeply, my diaphram would lift the lap belt up and thus move the base of the belt and make the noise

and on a side note, i'd also like to say that this is by far the noisiest car i have ever driven, from this seat belt squeek to dash rattle to the stiff suspension/tires amplifying all sorts of road noises, the blend door is making noises now when i change vent settings, and now my driver door window motor is clicking when the window goes up and down

yet i haven't had any driveability or engine problems, weird

Yah I had this problem and i think it was GoFast that said to use white lithium grease spray to spray where the belt connects to the seat. It has been gone ever since I did it.

I say use the grease spray rather than the WD-40 because of how much wd-40 smells, the grease does not have a smell.

yes use lithium. lasts longer and works better than wd-40. just apply a dap to the post/bolt and spread around with finger as much as possible. then work the seat belt buckle back forth a few times and viola it will go away

There's a TSB for the seat belt squeek. Now, whether you car fits in the VIN range, who knows, but you could always take it in mention it and see if they'll do the TSB. I've had an annoying squeek ever since I got my MS3 back in June (I have an '08.5) and the dealer first thought it was the seat belt and informed me of the TSB and did the fix. Unfortunately that wasn't it and the damn squeek persists to this day and the dealership can't figure it out. It sounds like it's coming from somewhere in the middle dash area. One of these days, I'm just going to start ripping dash pieces out and see if I can figure it out. Of course I've been saying that for about 4 months now... lol.

This is an old problem. Most of them are being related to the seat belt bolt under the chair. I get it from time to time and am now noticing it when someone is in the passenger seat.

On my passenger seat, it's the rail itself that squeeks. The bolts that attach the rail to the car body are tight, but the rail is made out of multiple pieces and these are what's squeeking. I sprayed some Tri-Flow (similar to wd-40) on it and it did nothing. I would guess other people's squeeks may be coming from the same place.
