Wideband O2 question

ok so it runs smoother but I still get P0303 CEL, It is sparking I can tell by pulling it and I saw arching, but when I pull the plug it looks all glazed, like its not been firing. I got a P0171 but I think that's because I didn't plug in the O2 back in tight.

Also my O2 is still stuck all the way to the left in red.

P0171 is a vacuum leak, look for leaks around the intake manifold and injectors and also the charge piping.

What color is the plug? Is the misfire intermittent?

the plug is black and wet, I think the 171 was because I didn't put the O2 back down tight.
I'm thinking its more not working than it is working by the look of the plug. I tried different plugs also.

Compression check is next. If its bad compression - I just want to get rebuild a long block

Injectors work, im running out of things to check. How can a sparkplug fire and injectors shoot fuel and it misfire? What else is there to check?

You said the plug for the coilpack is damaged? Is it making a good connection? It is probably something simple being overlooked.

I replaced the coil pack, plugs and wires. I ran it, with the plug and out and it was arching - I could see the arch on the plug. maybe a stuck exhaust valve? it dosnt move when I swap coils or plugs. P0303 stays. Valve cover seal is bad around the plug? argh. My wideband o2 isnt bad since its not moving anymore?

Is the VC gasket leaking? There should not be any oil inside the spark plug hole. WB is fine, you may need to have someone else look at it. May be a mechanical issue inside the cylinder although I doubt it.

Maybe the 02 sensor for the wideband went bad. I mean our cars run notoriously rich. I'm somewhat having a similar issue to you except my spark plugs look fine not wet or out of the ordinary wear. I still have to replace my cables though so crossing fingers.

I'm at a loss, someone told me to Sea Foam my intake and see if that helps. I wasn't to sure about that. I wish there was someone in Houston I could have come by and help me Diagnose. If I can fix this I am going to plan some time in the spring to remove my engine and rebuild it.

Before you give up check your injectors... perhaps one or more are clogged or gone bad causing the misfire. Once I change my ignition wires if the misfire continues to happen the injectors will be my next thing on the list.

I might swap 3 with 4 injector and see if the CEL follows; but could this problem make my wideband show pegged all the way to lean and never move?

Don't worry about the wideband right now, it may be giving you faulty readings. I wish you were closer I could take a look, it's hard to diagnose over the internet.

I honestly think your 02 sensor is done for. You can get a Bosch 17018 one for about a $60 ( I'm assuming you have an AEM Uego) I know it works for a fact because I'm running it as we speak on my AEM uego.

Horns if you where close by I would pay you to look at it. I'm not sure if mine is AEM Aego it was already installed. I lean towards the O2 not being bad because I cant see how it can make one cylinder not fire, but its the only thing that I have not changed that has not fixed it (Under the assumption that nothing internal is wrong).

1. I'm going to try the swapping of the injectors to see if the CEL follows. I checked the injector and it clicks but does not mean it sprays.
2. I'm going to do a compression test to rule out internal issues.

I'm open to ANYTHING else to try. Its going to be 27 in Houston with a high of 42, and I'm willing to freeze to death to try and fix this (Anyone up north reading this, Its MUCH colder for you but this is Houston its not suppose to get to 27!)

Compression test is a good idea either way, it's usually something simple so don't get discouraged.
