Why my car does this? PLS HELP!!

My odometer screen is still showing when the keys are out of the car ignition. Even after an hour, it's still showing. Why does this happen?

Is your door open? It should light up when your door is opened. Maybe your door sensor is broke or jammed.

My odometer stays on also. I was wondering if all protege's did this. I like the mechanical style odometers a little more then these digital ones. I figure the odometer staying on is normal for our digital style.

are you sitting in your car for an hour watching the odo making sure that is what it does? mine goes off after about 5 minutes or so, then turns back on when i open a door.

mine also stays on .. the best thing to try is .. change the view to the trip meter 1 or 2 and watchit then .. i think it stays on if it displaying the cars Odometer .. i men i have never had a problem with my car dying on me or anything due to a low battery ..i swear the battery tht comes with the MP5 must be the stongest alive .. i have left my underbody kit on all night more times then I can count and i have NEVER had a problem starting it after

Who really cares? It's not going to wear out your battery or anything. Mine has always stayed on. Ever since I bought it it was on.

if you leave it alone it shuts off after a few minutes until you unlock the door again.

it's never bothered me. and ifs its drawing voltage from the batt all the time, its not gonna hurt anything anyways. its not drawing enough to even make a difference. i had a varad scanner on my mx3 and i'd leave for weeks and it'd start up fine after 2wks or more of just drawing from the batt.

It's always on....and the amount of energy it takes to run is so small that to even worry about it is crazy.

no its not always on... when you use your FOB or unlock your door it goes back on. After a few minutes it will shut off. thats what they do here in Canada anyways. Next time look through your driver window before unlocking or doing anything to your car after it has sat overnight... youwill see that it is not on.
