i am looking into getting a cpe fmic or?
i just want to be sure that my ac performance will not suffer and that my car wont overheat.(dunno)
theres got to be a few who live in las vegas, new mexico or arizona that are running fmic.
any info will be awsome.
oh btw im new on here and this forum has a ton of good info.

i have one and live in las vegas. my ac still works just fine and we have already had 111 degree weather so im happy so far.

well i wont be getting the fmic or tmic till later and just want to be sure that the ac will be good still if i get fmic.

someone in az has a fmic on a mazdaspeed by now,let me know

The A/C on the MS3 sucks horribly anyways, so I guess it can't get much worse, haha. Try azmazdaclub.com for arizona stuff or the arizona section of this forum.

It probabley not as hot as where you are but its already 90-95ish here and the ac is still the same....

last i was in my car.. it said 110 and the a/c definetly didnt help, it works but i think it couldve definetly been colder... i have the tmic 3.25 it does its job fine till your sitting around for a while... sooner or later im going to go fmic... ya also come to azmazdaclub.com great guys and we do alot of different things

I don't have a FMIC on the MS3 but had one on the turbo Mazda3 out here and there was no effects noticable with the FMIC and the A/C.

thanks for the replys

almost ready to "just do it"

maybe wait for one more positive post.(hear ya)

Wouldn't the FMIC just create more turbo lag?

What real gains are there to be had other than looks?

If you must get something for Speed3, look into a short ram intake(sri) or cold air intake (cai). I'm sure its cheaper, and the better power maker other than the FMIC...although more power is to be had with an FMIC, only if you have more supportive mods to compliment it, right, or wrong? Someone with more knowledge, help me out here. =)

As if our car had turbo lag. . . .

It minimizes heat soak and will decrease intake temperatures. Cool air makes more power than hot air, especially when your intercooler is on top of your hot ass engine.

i live in az as well, and my car feels like a jar of mayonnaise when its this hot. im thinking about the cobb fmic thats about to be released, but i dont know if it would be worth the money, or if any fmic would. im going to get a turboback and ap first, and see how the car feels. im also considering a trz top mount (coming soon) with my turboback and a custom tune for the ap.

well, since the air has to travel a longer distance to get into the engine, lag would be noticeable. yes, no, maybe? I don't have a problem with my top mount being cool to the touch after spirited driving, even if it is sitting on top of my hot ass engine...

then again, i don't live in the az desert. (rockon)

well i do live in az and my ETS TMIC is definetly cool after driving it... its just when it sits around in direct sunlight it starts to get REALLY hot or sitting in traffic for 5min straight without moving (but that never happens)... im going to go for a fmic sooner or later and sell the ETS but for now im gunna get the Cobb AP and call it a done deal... i think mazda really did do a good job in how they engineered the tmic air flow scoop deal to work fine... but ya a fmic is definetly better but a TMIC does its job also...
