a BPT or a KLZE??

also i have a question with the bpt....i know that they came 4x4 tranny but can i use a b6t tranny since my car is FWD.

Whcih one is faster and easier to get parts.?

Thanks any input would be greatly appreciated.

You can use a regular BP Protege trans, easily found at a junkyard and the MazdaSpeed LSD from the MazdaSpeed Protege can be adapted to work in that transmission.

As far as which one is faster, the BPT can be made faster pretty easily just swapping turbos and upping the boost. The KL-ZE is NA and you won't get much more out of it than the 200hp at the crank it normally makes unless you turbo or supercharge it, both are expensive and a nightmare to do because of the amount of space the KL takes up in the engine bay.
Easier to get parts? Both about the same. Many parts of the KL-ZE are found in the regular KL-DE, and many parts of the BPT are found in the BP-05.

you see the problem is that any mazda part or engine or tranny is needed to be ordered from japan. Because in my country where i live in the Caribbean...mazda parts are extremely hard to find and most of the junkyards don't usually import them.

I will be using the B6t tranny i fi decide to go with the BPT...i am getting a front cut with the BPT and tranny....so therefore the swap should be straight forward becuase it has all the axels, ecu, manifold, etc.

However the b6t tranny may not always be available ....what other tranny can i use on the BPT?

Like I said, you can use a regular BP trans out of a '90-94 Protege LX, '95-'98 Protege ES, Tracer LTS, Escort LX-E, and Escort GT.

Just use E-bay and get what you need.

how about the FS ZE engine rated at 170hp.

would this engine fit in my 2nd gen without relocating or cutting of bumper?
