Which would work best

Yes sir, I think of right now I'm gonna purchase the cbe then get the test pipe a couple months down the road so I wanna make sure which pipe fits best from people who already have the hks cbe

I don't know for sure but would assume that all of the parts are made to work with stock components so they all should fit about the same.

are they selling the RP on its own again? its not listed as such on their website

there is one store i just checked that is selling them separately still. i'm not sure if they just got a bunch when they were first released or what...but apparently they still have some and they sell the dp separately as well.
i think ken is right though, you might have a hard time finding the txs rp separate from the dp. the spot i'm talking about might have outdated info on their site. whatever.
in terms of race pipes, the cs has had some fitment problems lining up with the stock cbe, not sure about 3" cbe's. and the su pipe is something i've only heard one bad thing about. all the other 2347324731 things have been real good.

i had txs rp on my car for about 10k, i ******* loved it.
ken, is pg still making rp's for the ms3?

we sold them with flex joints and wideband ports in 3 inch size back in the day. could i make them again, sure. will people pay what it will cost to sell and ship them? i doubt it. we stopped selling it when Corksport hit the market. its hard to beat a 150 dollar part like that with a 200 plus dollar part.

if there were interest in 10 or so people, i'd do it. the mazdaspeed6 one we offered became real popular after we stopped making it :(

Logic would dictate that if a test pipe is made to bolt to the stock exhaust system, and a CBE is designed to bolt to the stock second catalytic converter, then any (well made) test pipe will bolt to any (well made) CBE.

Just my $0.02 :)

And I say buy from ProtegeGarage, too...half of the aftermarket things on my car are from them (or purchased from them, rather). :)

thanks for the support, we appreciate your business

+1 for Logic.

Do you want to spend more money on a pipe that you know will fit? I think that any credible company should be able to make a part that will fit properly.

IMO... any 3'' race pipe will perform just like the one next to it. So I would just buy the cheapest pipe, replace the flanges for a tight fit, and spend any extra money you would have used on a "name brand" pipe towards something else. It's not like you're gonna even be looking at it.

I was gonna purchase the cs test pipe from pg but people said about fitment issues. I'd be pissed if I had to wait a while after purchasing the tp then while installing the tp, it didn't fit. I don't plan on getting the cbe later on anyways so I want it to fit up to the stock cbe. That is why I've been thinking about the SU tp. I wanted to purchase the cs because of the hangers and it is cheaper

I avoided this whole problem by buying the CS downpipe and the vibrant DP back exhaust. No problems at all. No fitment issues. (2thumbs)

i have never had a fitment problem with the corksport test pipe, either one that i have sold and been told about or one that i have installed myself. i have heard there were people getting the wrong hardware but that is not the case any longer.

like nutari said, if you get the corksport short downpipe and the vibrant down pipe back exhaust - you effectively have a turbo back exhaust WITH a high flow cat for under a grand. not a bad deal at all.

I would like to get the dp also but, if I had to take my car in for warrenty work then it would be a pita to uninstall. The test pipe is so much easier and it will give me alittle bit more noise and a couple more hp which isn't a bad deal for 150 something. I have an extended warrenty so it will be some time before I get a dp. I'm gonna try to get the rp maybe next week, and after taxes get something else. Not sure what to get between mm or bpv
