Which SSAFC for MSP?

i have a PSC1-003 sitting here. doesn't work, doesn't have a MAP Sensor, won't hold a tune on the ecu.

Thanks for answering the questions, though I am still confused as to which datasheet I should refer to with my PSC1 AFC Version 2? My instructions said it was the 020.

the 020 is the ONLY one that works on the MSP.... End of story.

Which data sheet are you referring to?

I wasn't doubting that I have the right unit, just confused on which paperwork I should use from the SS website.

PSC1-001 Programmable Signal Calibrator w/Absolute MAP sensor
PSC1-002 Programmable Signal Calibrator
PSC1-003 Programmable Signal Calibrator
PSC1-004 Programmable Signal Calibrator AFM to MAF
PSC1-005 Programmable Signal Calibrator AFM to MAF w/Inv. Output
PSC1-006 Programmable Signal Calibrator Karman to MAF
PSC1-008 Programmable Signal Calibrator -- Late Model GM
PSC1-009 Programmable Signal Calibrator AFM to MAF HV Output

That's the list that was mentioned earlier. Each one has a separate datasheet so I wanted to know if the 001 is the right one for us.

datasheets would be model specific, so I'd say no. Plus, that uses a MAP sensor... our cars are MAF based.

what is it on the datasheet you're concerned with?

anything but the datasheet for the model you're looking for isn't going to be 100% correct. it'll have some degree in common, but who knows how much... and if you're relying on it... it kinda matters.

Well the only papers I have looked at were from Split Second's website, or what came in the box. I printed out the 001 datasheet just to read and have for reference but I see now it is the wrong one since it's for a MAP sensor. So I'm not really relying on it, and I will be taking my car to be tuned professionally instead of me guessing with my wideband.

split second will not sell the PSC unit for the protege outside of us. the ones listed on their site are not wired or setup to work for the protege. this has been covered time and again on this forum. we have an exclusivity arrangement with split second regarding the protege. off the shelf PSC units will not work with the protege. why do you think FICs or SAFCS off the shelf don't work for this car? they aren't setup for it.

i'm not ripping anyone off. my wholesale cost into a protege unit isn't even $239 or whatever whomever posted. i can't even why anyone would consider, having even been told by split second directly that only we sell a working unit for this car, that there would even be a debate to be had at this point.

you can order the FTC1 timing and fuel unit for the protege from split second directly.

I wasn't implying that you were ripping anybody off. Just alot of times if you can cut out the middle man and go straight to the supplier, you can get it cheaper. And that $239 price I listed is on their website on their price sheet. I didn't just make that up. Personally, I don't fault anybody for doing a little research and trying to get the best deal they can. That's just good money management. Thanks for the feeback on the unit and providing a unit that does work on our cars.

The difference here is that that "middle man" has and continues to support this part, and without Ken, The SSAFC wouldn't be available for our cars at all.

i wasn't directing my response solely at the original poster here. please don't take offense.

i am aware of the price sheet and the price listed. but as i said, its not the same unit here, not by a long shot. its a very custom job split second does to make sure the unit actually works on the car. there are numerous generic systems you can try and make work on this car, and you're going to spend money with resistors and wiring tricks to make it happen, and thats if you can get it to work at all.

something to remember is, its one thing to have good money management. its another to simply wanting something to work so you can spend as little as possible. on engine management, thats truly a fool's errand. this kind of stuff can blow up your engine if its done wrong. and at the end of the day, thats a lot more expensive than buying the right thing once.

none of the datasheets for those vehicles would truly tell you anything. what information do you need? i have more coming in next week and can xerox and email you what they include in the box.

I was just looking to find all the info on the AFC V2 that I could for reference is all. In case the guys I take it to dyno have a question on it.
