GT4 is more realistic by far.. but that doesnt mean it's better. I dislike GT4's gameplay with a handheld controller, I'm really diggin Forza so far though.

play gt4 with the logitech wheel. its an experience like no other:D

...on GT4, u have to use it on those 24 hour races, don't u? i know forza has endurence races, but i don't know how long those r yet...

No I don't think so. I'm pretty sure you can race the endurance races yourself if you want to, it's just that most people don't want to make that sort of time commitment. Obviously if I do it manually I'll be pausing it for breaks.

one thing i dont get about gt4 though... who in the hell would pay 22k for tires
I think 22k for tires is pretty cheap. Think about if you raced the car in real life in a competitive circuit how much tires for one season would cost.

Im all set with GT4. I hate the way it controls compared to Forza, and the physics engine is not nearly as advanced. GT4 calculates 40something times per second, where as Forza does 250something per second. I hate how the Physics engine s**** the bed sometimes, Ill take a turn the same way 500 times and one of those times Ill completely spin out for no reason, having nothing to do with tire wear. And nobody say I suck at GT games, **** you, I've played everyone all the way through except for 4, which I have at 40something percent. PLus the lack of online play and the INEXCUSABLE graphical glitch that makes it look like s*** on my TV will make sure I never touch it again. Oh, and If GT4 is so realistic, why are the 400m times so rediculously out of wack? Oh my 400hp car runs a 16.9?!? Come on.

Tell you what JCell, that civic R you were driving, go take your car and try turning at the same speed. Also, like in real life, left foot braking is the only way to make a FF turn at speed. Try using gas/brake at the same time. I think GT4 is quite accurate in this aspect. FF's understeer..who knew!? Forza is a piece of s*** arcade game. It's sluggish and the braking system is god awful. The only cool part is the weight effect, however, it's too NFSU for me..

Mike your a ******* idiot. Moreover, completely biased because of a glitch on your display. Forza is a piece of s***, and your 400hp 16.9 is because you didn't work with the LSD or suspension to hook it up. There is so much more going on that you don't even see.

how long r they, r they really 24 hours?

Yup. Some 24 hour ones, some 9 hours ones, etc.

I don't understand what all this bickering is for. I have already definitively told you all that GT4 is more realistic. End of discussion. But Forza is still damn fun even though it loses in the realism and graphics categories. As for the GT4 graphical glitch - are you talking about the screen jitter that happens before races and during replays? If so, yeah that is annoying. I don't know how they could have left that in there after developing the game for practically half a decade.

well i've played forza for a good 10-12 hours now and i'm about 28% done in carrere and 17% done in arcade, so i guess GT4 is longer...a lot longer

what i don't like about GT4 is that the computer can drive for u, true that u can do that in forza as well, but in forza the computer has to be trained first...

The CPU driver in GT4 has to be given time to get better, you have to instruct him when to speed up and slow down. I don't understand why you don't like a feature you never have to use if you don't want to though..

its easy if you use a 800hp skyline in a compact sport cup with care that have 160hp. If you use the same type of car they do its quite hard plus you actually get bspec points when you do that

i guess it's not so bad then

i forza, u have to actually drive around in lesson tracks and it rates how fast you corner, brake, and accelerate out of the turn in percentages

then when u use it, if u have a 70% on 90% turns, the drivatar wil only do the turn at 70% of teh cars ability

I like gt4, but I like Forza even more. Here's where Forza beats GT4 : BRAKING. In gt4, I can take any car, with any brake set up, and stop on a dime. Were's the realism in that? In Forza, if I brake as late as I do in gt4, then I can enjoy sliding way off course. Also, in gt4, there's no sliding of any kind. I should be able to toss my 700hp '69 mut around some corners dammit! If I floor it, it sould break loose, not just plow forward like a brick. In gt4, all the cars are nothing more than mobile bricks. If by some chance you do manage to break 'em loose, they just loop around on you. It's either that, or severe understeer. Also, the power to weight ratio has always been absurd in the gt series. An original 60's mini cooper(not in gt4, lame), with 160hp should frickin' haul ass. But no. It barely moves. ?!!!! And it won't corner for crap either. Rediculous. I've been in an original mini, and that thing was a frickin' slot car on the mtn road. Again, I still like GT4, but it's just not THAT realistic. All the cars just handle to similarly.

The jittering is because V-sync is turned on (the framerate is locked at 60 hz, without triple buffering), and it's an interlaced signal. So only half the screen gets updated at 30 fps. To fix this problem, they would have had to disable V-sync which would cause graphical glitches and possibly inhibit unknown features of the engine designed to function with the frame rate cap, figure out a system to scale the LOD, or just reduce the graphical quality altogether, all of which would be distracting and noticable all the time instead of just at the beginning of a race. It sucks but I think the developers made the right decision given the circumstances :)

Learn about weight transfer, turn off driving aids, and then start talking about sliding your car around. Judging by how you criticized the game, you're ignorant and unable to grasp the real-world concepts of the physics in GT4. (notcool)

huh? (uhm)

i love drifting on gt4 wit a silva or an rx7. turnoff all the aids and learn how to control the car.

The game engine has a problem with how it draws the image to your screen. Rather than change it, which could cause a ton of bugs out of no where, they desided to keep it in the game. Bascially you get sweet graphics all the time with that ugly jittery effect every once in a while vs jittery all the time.

Turn off the driving aids and buy the realistic tires.
