yea, one of the guys from the team is even on the forums, his name is Lurch.
i didn't know that subaru dropped but i had a feeling...:mad:
you could just tell that the big guns dropped.(subaru and mitsubishi) it just wasn't as fast paced as it has been in the past.
as for lurch i don't know if he is factory backed or not. all i know is that with him gone it seemed like all that was left in his class was mopar neons... i had no one to root for while i was there. no mazda . what a bummer

I thought Lurch (Eric Burmeister) got some money from Mazdaspeed this year for his car.
The past few years he's had development help from Mazdaspeed, but no money. I thought this year marked his first year with money.
Mazdaspeed is officially backing (meaning money) a few road race teams this year as well.

Doods...I was there working for RallyTV, commentating and doing interviews for the program.
As for MAZDASPEED Rally Team USA, we are a factory support team, not unlike the World Challenge teams.
This year will be a limited schedule for us as we are trying some new things and making some big plans, but rest assured, the Protege lives on and the future for Mazda rallying looks good!
Look for us a bit later in the season...I'll keep you posted!

Maine is on our list of "maybes". Since this is our year "off" from the entire national schedule, I was thinking of trying some new events...possibly Rally New York or an event or two in Canada.
Maybe if I can put a promotion together for a NE dealer that would bring us and your club together for a shindig before or after the rally, it may work out. We'll see.
