Where to tap for oil temp gauge?

I've been considering installing an oil temp gauge but couldn't figure out where I'd put the sensor without going to a spin-on oil filter kit.

Any ideas?

bringing this thread back from the dead, but I am also interested in this. I had a oil temp guage and a screw on oil filter tap adapter as well ofr a previous car and after my first oil change on the speed3 I definitly knew that wasn't gonna work.

Is there a factory oil temp monitoring spot? I saw a lot of harnesses and sensors around the oil filter contraption.

Doesn't the DashHawk monitor that? I thought it did. Might just be easier to go that route. Sorry I can't offer any more help than that. I'll check to see for sure tonight and get back to you.

Yeah, and I checked the DH...it doesn't allow you to monitor oil temperature. Oil pressure, yes...but not temp.

I have the mounting plate and I just looked at the spin on oil filter conversion. That thing is a beast just to convert it to a spin-on filter. I am gonna search for reviews of this before I swap out the oil filter area.

Can anyone chime in on this product if you have used it? Is there another way to tap into any stock oil temp or pressure sensors(if any)?

I found one on streetun1t . com but I can't get a good link from it.

The spin-on conversion isn't so bad... I did mine 'bout three months ago, along with the quick oil drain valve installation.

PG has a "sandwich" gizmo that allows a pressure gauge/temp gauge (maybe both?). Is there a "combo" device available that does both?
