Does anyone know where I can find a set of high quality smoked tail lights? I would like these to be the same style as stock (no fancy lights or goofy LED business), but need them to be smoke colored.

buy a can of VHT niteshades (spray tint)and do it yourself. its easy and YOU control the amount of 'smoke'

Is the niteshades just spray paint formulated for plastic? Does it wear off or peel?

but that seems like you might make it uneven if you sprayed too long on one side and too short on another. why not just get the RockBlocker overlays? or a user on here, BlueBat i think, sells overlays.

THis is funny someone is bringing this up. I currently own a 2001 Toyota Tundra. I found a used set of tailights and did it myself. I used a can of VHT niteshades and it was extremely easy. THis does not wear off or peel. This is paint. The only way to get it off is to use paint thinner. I know this is not a Mandaspeed 3, but here is at least a picture. For those of you that might get mad about me showing a different vehichle, I am just showing it for reference.

THis is right after I painted the lights. This was within 2 minutes after spraying. The paint was still drying.

Here is what they look like on my truck.
I actually took these off this past week because of my next door neighbor. He is a cop and gave me all sorts of crap for hacving them on there that they were illegal.

Just remember that when using the nightshades, wet sand with 1500 before each coat so the final coat is smooth.

I think I am going to give it a shot on another one of my vehicles that I do not care about as much and then go from there.

same as Mazda 3

Also, are the tail lights the same as the Mazda 3? I imagine there is a large offering of aftermarket lights for those.

I purchased the smoked tail light overlays at rockblocker. Looks great. I'd take a picture but the only camera I have is the cellphone and my car isn't the cleanest as I speak.
