Where to find FRONT OEM Brake Retaining/anti-vibration clips?

The best way to explain it is, it is the metal pieces that snap on to the face of the brakes on the front of the OEM 07+ mazdaspeed 3 brakes. The ends of the piece of metal is flexible, and connects onto the fixed brackets where the brake pad seats. I am guessing they are called anti-vibration retaining clips? I have had the hardest time trying to figure out what they are called and where I can buy them. I will provide a picture below showing what I am trying to explain:

Hopefully that makes things a little clearer and you know what I am talking about. Does anyone know where I can get a hold of these? When i changed out my brakes a few months ago, I was driving down the road and both of these clips came off and I really need them to make my brakes function like they should.

It's pretty pricy new - and this is from one of the cheapest online places for OEM parts:

And people who are parting out most may not want to sell the piece separately since it's a pretty important part of the caliper. Might have to bite the bullet and spend over $100 on two of these.

can you give a little more info? I am wondering because this same thing happened to me, but I just took a rubber hammer and tapped it back in... no problems.

Also... I have used montgomery mazda 4 times now, and I have not found a cheaper source for OEM parts...

Thanks for the quick response man. Judging from the picture, though, it is showing the spring for the rear. The one for the fronts is an upside down T shaped retainer clip, which is exactly the piece I am looking for...the clip that has the big flat square piece in the middle that covers up the brake pad backing with the metal prongs.

Yes, I ordered from Montgomery Mazda back in January and he did a great job for the parts I needed. I e-mailed him tonight to see if he has the 2 pieces I am looking for. What sucks is, I used a G2 paint caliper gold kit, and did my calipers, 2 days later both of these clip pieces broke loose and chipped all the paint up on both my calipers...made me SICK!

How did you guys get these pieces to go back on correctly without falling off?? Mine seemed secured, but after 2 days of driving, they just popped loose and flew out from under the car down the road. Ugh!

Please if anyone else can chime in, I would greatly appreciate it.

That's weird because that's the front caliper in the diagram. Maybe the diagram doesn't show the big flat square piece. You can see in the menu to the left that it's the front suspension.

The piece for me slid/snapped back into place and hasn't moved since I've painted my calipers.

Anyways, I found out that a guy that has a very similar site that you linked me to is a sponsor on the m3f.com website, and his prices are about $3 cheaper, so I pm'ed him and sent him the pictures to see if he can verify for me. Just make sure to check the shipping prices. Jeff at Montgomery offers free shipping after a certain amount - which seems like these two clips would qualify for. If not, buy a couple oil filters or an in-cabin filter

So far, they've been really nice. Car seems to ride smoother and quieter. May just be in my head though. I've had them for 1 1/2 months now and they still smell new for some odd reason. Wondering when that potent rubber smell will go away.

Guess I'll need to drive a little more aggressively.

The guy I purchased them from said he called Mazda directly 2 times to verify that this is for the front clips, and he said that indeed they are. I think it has the same part number or something. Regardless, I found exactly what I was looking for! hopefully this thread will help people in the future if this question arises!

Well, I concede the site has your first clicky shown as "front"
but the spring in the pic sure as hell looks like the round wire doodad on the rear

and the rear link clicky shows nothing looking like the system I had apart last week

I think the site has bad diagrams, mebbe correct #'s, but the pics aren't lookin right

Yeah...I agree. The renderings in those diagrams are mediocre at best. Some parts are even more inaccurate. But it gives a somewhat decent reference when ordering parts.

Get 'em Hank! haha. Hank was just helping me out. As far as the accuracy of the depictions on that website, that is a whole different story. He helped me, I contacted a place similar to that link, he ran the part number AND called the dealership, and it is the correct part number.

Good to be sure, I just went thru the process of a full return, and took the car apart twice, cuz the site had regular 3 pads mixed in with ms3 pads

and that front clip is stone easy to install

just push it in til the spring tab registers into the pad this time
