where is your tire iron kept?

well, i bought a 2001 mp3, about a month or 2 ago, and today i jacked it up to see if my summers i have will fit.... but i cant find the tire iron to loosen the lugs off. just wondering if its somewhere other than the trunk? because i tore that trunk apart and cant find it at all... if anyone can just let me know if thiers are kept with the jack, or elswere... thanks

it's supposed to be on the far right side of the trunk under the carpet, there is a plastic cover over where the iron and jack are kept
