Where does your temp guage sit?

Once the car is warmed up, mine rests just below half. Is that normal? I'd be curious to know about others here.

Same here. Always stays at roughly half way up.

From what I understand, if it's any higher than half, you've probably already overheated to a dangerous extent. It's not really that accurate. Mine rests at about 1/2 way.

I don't have a needle in my cluster for the water temp so I'm not sure where it would sit there. But my aftermarket gauge reads 160ish

The water temp gauge is equivalent to an idiot light. Buy a real one if you want but odds are if you're just doing normal driving you won't see any issues.

My gauge goes to about 1/2 fairly quickly. Oddly enough, my Autometer gauge is still showing warm up when the dash gauge is reading normal operating temp. As the Autometer gauge indicated 60-80 degrees increase in temp to normal operating temp, the factory gauge just sits there.

So yeah, it's worthless. If it ever does move above 1/2, you're already screwed.

I have a sunpro mechanical gauge and I honestly think it works pretty well. My brother has the same one hooked up to his grand prix and although it takes it a little bit to warm up according to the gauge, but once it's working it's pretty accurate with the stock gauge.
