When will COBB AP be user tunable?

download the latest ap firmware, plug ap into car, select monitor, then datalog, press ok then floor it once the screen says logging. Press ok again to finish the run.

That street tuner is a little scary for me. Like some of you guys mentioned I dont know anything about tuning. If cobb had something where I could send them my data and they could create a map for me . . . I would gladly pay 100 bucks extra for it.

They do. I was talking to Christian a few weeks back and they have whats called e-tuning and you do exactly that. Do a few data logs, email it to them, they tweak it and create a new map for you. If I remember correctly, it was about $175. Email chris.haag@cobbtuning.com if you are interested. He is the one that does all the scheduling for Christian.

Alright thanks. If I ever manage to buy the AP ill be sure to send him a message.

Should I send a datalog for a custom tune? I have a catless downpipe.. Will I be fine on their maps or is that dangerous?

I was at Cobb on Tuesday and they said the Street Tuner for the MS3 is suppose to be released end of 1st quarter, beginning of 2nd.

Hopefully when this software comes out there will be some kind of how-to, maybe just the basics of tuning ? A DVD tutorial would be badass lol. I would like to tune my BPV for VTA

I heard Christian has put together a manual, which they may charge $100 dollars for, but the software would be free.

i have a feeling that once this is released we are going to see a slight spike in blown engines

agreed. thats what i was saying to my friend. that theres going to be alot of people out there blaming cobb for their blown motors b/c they were thinking cobb made this thing for those who dont have the slightest idea about tuning. with one little tweak in the wrong area(BOOM!!) i know i wouldnt trust myself tweaking anything in the cars tune nor would i even attempt to do so

the reason why i see cobb offering this is to allow people/tuners that have the knowledge in tunning to make tunes for AP owners and "load" the tune(s) to the ap giving access to more than one tune at a time instead of being forced to get one reflash at a time or having to use the generic maps cobb maps.

once AP's go down in price i wil mos def pick one up b/c of this. and when there are money ass tunes created, have them loaded on to my AP or have a mimic tune created on my AP

for instance, ill be sending my ecu for the piasini tune and if cobb offers this and Ap's drop down to about $200(in a few years)-i hope the piasini tunecan be added to the AP and have my ecu flashed back to stock. any any other great tunes created will be bought put on the AP as well

cant wait to hear about more blown motors because of rookie people tuning their own cars.........lol

New ap's will never come down in price and you will never be able to download the piasini tune to the ap. Trust me this is directly from nypest who sells the tune and owns an ap. By the way the 103 maps are just as good as the piasini maps anyway.

really?

i know NEW aps wont come down to that price. im talking used ones sold by private owners and there being enough of a supply out there to bring cost down. but im talking after a few years have passed

i dont recalll seeing a MS3 with AP thats running bov, intake and upgraded tmic putting down 287whp and 305wtq

That's because no one with those mods has dyno'd with the 103 maps. My dyno on the 102's with just an intake was 261 hp and 298 ft/lbs. My car is pulling a lot harder especially up top on the 103 maps, so I would bet that I have closer to 290 whp.

sorry. he's only running sri, tmic and tune. stock bpv. and putting down 287whp and 305wtq

AP is definitely making power now. I agree the v100, 101 and even 102 maps were s***. I'm still running a v103 beta map
