tired of the terrible ride of the engine mounts?

all you need are tires with softer sidewalls
sacrifce handling for straight line launching ability....
the softer sidewalls absorb the hop...

this might be wrong but its true for my snow tires. so for you guys who dont drive your car on back roads and drag constantly, this might help you. i dunna.

Yup. My 15" snow tires don't hop. I can dump the clutch and just get wheelspin. I think it's because the snow tires have less grip.

i was talking to the very knowledgable tire guy at ntb and he assured me it was the softer sidewalls u can feel it in turns, the car feels more like a boat now than a race car because it gives i think it dampens the hop.

yeh the harder sidewalls definatly cause wheel hop...but the msp has the worse i have ever seen....

the tires we have cause wheel hop because they grip well
due to the compound and size
better motor mounts will aid in this.the msp has some f the softest motor mounts i have ever seen
isn't cork working on that?

AWR makes motormounts too, and Kartboy was supposedly working on some inserts for the stock mounts housings. Email them and find out some more about this.

I emailed Kartboy and they had no plans for motor mounts... that was about a month ago.

The cheapest way to reduce wheelhop I've heard is either of these:

1. Fill the mounts with windshield sealant... the black stuff... and let it sit for 24 hours without moving. After it dries, you have very stiff mounts. You can also do this on the transmission mounts for stiffening.

2. Attach 2 cables to the front of the engine and secure them to something solid behind the firewall. This is a bit tricky but, it limites the engine from travelling forward. You retain the stock feel for all but hard acceleration.

Softer sidewalls... no thanks.

After reading Mike R's thread, I am just gonna get some auto tranny AWR mounts & eventually some iON race springs too.

This may be a good idea for those people that live a quarter-mile at a time, however, softer sidewall wheels will *not* handle nearly as well as the stockers on dry pavement. Keep this is mind before you go too fast in turns playing with the cars handling.
