I have to replace my driver side wheel bearing this weekend. The problem is I cam across a how to on it somewhere on the site a few months ago, but for the life of me I can't find it again. Can any of you guys help?

I changed mine out earlier this year. You will have to get the old bearing pressed out, and then the new one pressed in. If you've been on that bad bearing for a while, chances are the hub has been worn to the point where you may need a new one of those too. They are not cheap! Just make sure there is enough diameter on the hub spindle that the bearing is pressed onto, or you'll be replacing the new bearing due to wobble.

I had to replace wheel bearings on the front of mine as well. I don't have a press, so I just took the steering knuckles off the car and took them into the dealership. They didn't really charge me much to do it, since all the labor charge on that job is in the knuckle removal and install. Call them and see what they would do it for.

I tried going to a dealership to have them pressed in and out, but the guy was gone for the day who could press, and they wouldn't do it without a work order due to the possibility of safety issues. Someone wanted to do it for free, but the master tech overrode them.

I had a front wheel bearing replaced last week and since then there is a really loud sound coming of this wheel..like a tire sound but louder. When i turn to the right its louder (driver side wheel bearing replaced) so the weight goes on this wheel. I don't know what it is! bad hub? bad alignement?

can someone puts a light on this?

I remember that the guy who changed the bearing tried to remove it with only 2 upper studs attached to his "hammer"and this not worked. than he tried it with 3 lugs (2 up and one at the bottom) and it popped right out.. can this be the thing? did he bent the hub and this is the loud noise?
