Anchor Steam
Guiness Stout
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
Moynan's Kilt Lifter (got to go to Moynan's Brewery to get this one!)

Ever try San Miguel? Not the fake stuff from Mexico, the real stuff from the Philippines. The suspicious aftertaste of formaldehyde will have you scratching your spinning head after just one bottle.

Sir Nuke, nope, not a squid and I can only imagine what magasisi blvd. has to offer a fine gentleman. I am married to a half-Philippino girl and her dad spent many a day in the islands when stationed there tossing back the San Miguel, enjoying the cockfights, etc. I happened across the strange brew that is San Miguel through a little restaraunt/karaoke place in Monterey, CA. The owner could sense my disappointment when he told me they were out of San Miguel as I had heard of it before and really wanted to try it. He sent his son back over to his house to bring me one back from his "special stash". He said, "this is the good stuff, straight from the Philippines." The guy laughed his ass off when he saw me cringe after the first swig. But I hung in there and downed the whole thing. The remainder of the evening I was quite cloudy and couldn't get the taste out of my mouth for the life of me. I had a huge headache the next day. Later, I tell my father-in-law about this and he starts laughing and tells me he thought they might use formaldehyde as a way to get the alcholhol content in that stuff. It was at that moment I figured out what that obnoxious aftertaste was!
My father-in-law has this hilarious painting of a scrawny cat sipping on a San Miguel through a straw!:p
Also, I think it is not legal to import that beer into the States, that's why you can't find it anywhere. Not that I would go looking for it again!

Shiner Bock,.....Shiner, Texas brew!
Copy that... :D

Corona w/lime is good too. Just depends on the mood. :) I am usually a designated driver though, so not too many for me! :p

Corona with Lime, lime juice, plain. Whatever. As long as it's a Corona. On occasion I'll step out and have Killian's Irish Red, Amberbock, or Bud Light if the place I'm at doesn't have Corona.

Almost forgot

Has anyone tried Red Stripe? That's some good stuff too. Like MazdaSpeedGirl I haveto be in the mood for that one.

LOL LOL well actually it IS IMPORTED into the states....however...its not the same stuff you were fortunate enough to taste...or the same as what you get THERE....and considering when I was there we were paying a HUGE price of 35 cents a bottle....well....you know what they say...you get what you pay for...lol but considering the options....and also considering that it was up to a month and a half between VISITS....it didn't make much difference. lol we loved the stuff.

the OTHER choice was MOJO....which was some sort of magic mixed thing you could get in pitchers...it was sort of a pink color...and would KICK YOUR BUTT.....its color didn't make for a pretty sight if you had to much, which was a common occurance for sailors! lol

San Magoo as we called it....was a very interest experience!

Sounds like a very interesting place. When(IF) things ever settle down there I'd like to visit. My wife went back there a couple years back and there were tank rolling through her town. She's from one of the province areas by Miindanao.

I could only imagine what might be in MOJO...

Corona w/ a twist of lime mixed with a shot of tequila... I never had San Miguel...

Sounds tasty. Shouldn't take too many to be FUBAR, huh?

Love the animation PJ5. Good work.
