My car also has a tough time after a fill-up. I think there is crap in the tank that gets stirred up. It settles after a few minutes but will cause problems again if I stop abruptly.

I think I'll check the fuel filter. Anyone actually done it? Is it really as easy as a couple of bolts unter the back seat?

IIRC, there's a how-to for it I saw recently. Check the how-to section. Doesn't appear looking at the manual that it'd be much trouble if any.
